  1. Fun fact, the ant infected with cordiceps is in fact not upside down, that is the correct orientation.

    The fungus makes the ant climb up a plant and hang head-downwards, so that the spike growing out of its head points towards the ground, so as to infect more ants as they pass underneath. For some reason, most images are shown the wrong way up, maybe because people presume that stuff grows upwards.
