Tbh I like playing sheildbow on aphelios mainly tho. But if the enemy has an assassin then serpents fand will hard counter u. Otherwise if ur facing some diving bruiser or something u can just kill them because of the massive shield and the additional ad. And against divers pd is also a great option for kiting and basically dueling anyone.
I think the galeforce build will be better in a one shot or be one shot situation. But otherwise….
