  1. Sega will always have a place in my heart.

It always had great software, hardware and innovation, but they failed because they didn't have good business sense.

  2. Stadia hasn't failed. Cloud gaming hasn't even taken off yet and stadia is the best experience for cloud gaming. Give it like 5 years like how it took steam about 5 years before it even took off.

  4. I got a Dreamcast from Funcoland after it was discontinued. In fact I still have it to this day. I got it for 50$ and it was truly one of my favorite gaming consuls. I wish Nintendo would release a game library similar. A good mix of classics and hardcore games. I get tired of playing mostly kid friendly cartoony games. Sure some of them are fun but they don’t have lasting appeal. I never think (hey I wanna reply Luigis haunted mansion again)

  5. The Virtual Boy had shit hardware. I remember getting one for my birthday, back when it was popular. Mario Tennis had came with the console, but mine never worked. I only had maybe 3 or 4 games for it? Only 1 worked (Bomberman), but I never told my mom that none of the other games had worked 😆 I thought it was the best thing ever……in concept, definitely not functionality.

  6. The Dreamcast and Wii U are two examples of polar opposites. The Dreamcast was fantastic, had a glut of awesome software released in a short amount of time and was ahead of the curve. I loved that little machine. The Wii U, on the other hand? Total piece of shit. I can't believe I was an ardent defender of the damn thing. But Nintendo had a bunch of things lending to its failure, software draughts, region locked, confusion over the name, poor advertisement campaign, etc. I lost mine in a housefire and briefly considered getting one again? Then I thought about what they did to Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, and was like "Fuck that, I will wait for more info on their next system." What a steaming pile of hot garbage. The Wii U deserves the hate, let it be known that is how NOT to launch a console!

  7. I still remember finding out about the Dreamcast in 2001 or 2002 (after PS2 was already out) and saying "They made another Sega after the Genesis? I didn't know that!" that should tell you all you need to know about how few people even knew Sega continued making consoles.

  8. I love you guys but saying that cloud gaming failed because you have crap internet in The USA isn't really correct, The USA can have bad internet but isn't the center of the universe… If you can't watch Netflix/YouTube/Prime Video in 4k without buffering doesn't mean the streaming service has failed, maybe you just need a better internet…

  9. I'm from Germany and my ps 1 in my entertainment closet runs the games very good on my flatscreen modern TV. The ps classis is just trash at doing what it's supposed to do 🙃

  10. Outside Xtra did a piece on the Xperia Play. It was part of the Sony phone division and while in the same company, the gaming side did not want to risk hurting the Playstation brand in case of a flop hence the weird name… Ironically it was one of the factors in the products failures. Who woulda thought that not having confidence in your own product would translate to a lack of consumer confidence.

  12. This video is great cause it gives me a reason to make a long windy post about stuff I remember from when I was a kid. I saw a Virtual Boy in the wild (store) back in 1995 in a Sears. These days you can only find them on places like Ebay and the dusty collections of collectors. But I saw one in a honest to god retail store. I was in Sears with my mom and I used to go over to the video game counter/section they had set up and look at all the games and systems I would never get. The virtual boy was setup on the glass display case. I was the only one there so I decided I would try that weird looking thing on the counter. I had to kind of hunch over a bit to use it. I can't remember the game. Just that I was hit with the red coloring and I wasn't very pleased with it. I played it for a few minutes and moved on. I was not impressed and when I walked away I was like no thanks, I will stick to my SNES and Genesis. I also remember the Dreamcast and how everyone would say how stupid it was and how they wanted a PS2. I remember seeing them stacked up in stores like Best Buy for really cheap prices. I think I saw them for less than $100. The sales people would try and sell them to customers as alternatives for the PS2 which was hard to find the first few months of it's release. No one really wanted one obviously.
