  1. I love that you went against the grain and let new players know not to just hot drop.

There are many ways to learn how to take fights. Arenas is perfect to warm up just like the xmas train used to be.

    Its pure gunbattles.

If that is boring then play Titanfall 2 pilot v pilot mode for warm up.

Apex is High RNG Team Chess. And you are sharing the pieces and decisions with 1 or 2 other players.

Being great in a gunfight is one area of getting Gud.

    1. Warm up by playing arenas.

    2. Pick a day where all you do is play each character. If you know the strength and weaknesses of each legend you will anticipate what they can do in a battle.

Don't just practice or play with your favorite weapons. If you love the volt use the devo if you pick it up. If you love the Eva and don't like the pk (disable the choke. When it was meta I never used the choke).

Save close games where you lost. Watch over and breakdown what you could have done differently.

Don't blame others. This is a defense mechanism. This part of your mind that wants to blame Rngesus or their gun or team is protecting you from looking within and being critical of your play.

You are playing a game that is order of magnitude harder then chess. Think about that. There are so many more variables that it would take the average player years to get to a flow state each game where you can always choose the most logical choice in every situation.

    Team Chess.

    With RNG.

And half the time you have to make a move based on what your team did and make it work.

  2. Two channels I really love (next to raynday of course) are SultanD and Sweatband. I think they’re buddies or brothers but I found them separately. They do a lot of “how to rank up” videos, and SultanD reviews subscribers games and gives tips throughout, as well as his own.

  3. people don’t become great by just sitting back and watching others do great, people become great when they say “i need to be greater than great” yeah you can watch a few guys and try to watch their movements and tricks but DO NOT mimic them! create your own style and rise up!

  4. Practice doing 1 on 1s against someone better than you. I literally just started doing it and my aim and focus improved a lot over the past few days.
My second thing is watching ImperialHal. I watch his tournament play and study how he effectively sweeps in and out of fights while managing his inventory and staying alive.
Those are my two biggest things I do to improve.

  5. Really appreciate this video Raynday! Level 500 in apex but struggling with how to improve :/ Your video has helped me understand that I should reflect on games and not brush the L's off as a stroke of bad luck. Also I've been struggling with motivation for my youtube channel and your reminder of all the large channels starting from 0 just like I am has helped me find a little motivation with that reminder. I appreciate the video and your perspective! Good luck to you! 🙂

  6. For some reaseon this game makes you do eveything you mention in this video. I recently just started playing Apex . I like it and learning accordlingly. I think i need to work on movement, climbing walls etc. When i seen a teammate do it and i tried it i was like ok its more to it. Its like a Challenge.

  8. For newer players in apex I would recommend trying to follow daily challenges to get as much XP as possible and when in a match don't stay still for too long. Also try and land in quiet places like unnamed areas that you know will have loot in them. I'm over level 145 and these tips works for me. At around level 20 you can look at your legend tokens cause 1200 is enough to get a new legend. I got mirage as my first one at level 25. Hope this helps newly coming legends.
P.S if it says 3 squads left then it's you and 2 others and you should hide until they kill one of them off then go in when the remaining squad is healing cause they can't shoot while healing.
    P. S 2. There is a lot of lore in the game so you can try to look into that if your interested.

  9. Best tip not mentioned that encompasses all these tips: Play duos no fill, die a lot, get better at engagement. Switch to trios no fill when good. I am not good enough yet for trios but I have been dropping duos no fill hard but fun.

  10. I blame my randoms alot even when they do suck I need to look more at what I did wrong not how bad my randoms are no matter the situation and randoms I have. I do solo que to diamond each season but that's a stressful thing to deal with. Just gotta focus on me and my gameplay to critique it
