That’s this list…these are the games we want want to see on our table, whether disappointing in the end or not, and let’s face it…many of these would be disappointing. But I’ll still keep dreaming.

  1. Overwatch, Dragon Age, Zelda, God of War and Bioshock would be great if they are made by people who would respect source material and with creative team behind it. Also, there was Doom 2016 board game which is really good

  2. Fire Emblem seems like it would be an easy adaption. But I really would love to see Bioshock done right, when that game came out, I showed as many people the game as I could, and played through it probably 10 times myself.

  3. There's a lot of pit falls for video games into board games. The common one is with a different medium it simply doesn't work (Dark Souls being a slow grind with more people around a board isn't the same as solo in a video game). I think this is what is going to happen to Darkest Dungeon (which I played the video game endlessly), specifically with the upkeep and grind that works better in a video game than board game for down time. It's more of a money cow to milk than anything. I just see a lot of games get made into board games but it doesn't work. It's easier said than done. Anyone can copy and paste a theme with a 1:1 ratio of mechanics. It seems easy but more difficult and most don't do it right.

  4. Before I even watch the video here are my top 5 in no order.
+ Va11hallA (Mix drinks and change lives)
+ Trails of Cold Steel (or any of the series)
+ Atelier Ryza (would be most marketable since it is the most popular one in west)
+ Dragon Quest (I actually want this as a TRPG but putting it in anyway)
+ Nioh (Take on youkai and craft better gear/weapons. Have customization with spirits etc)

  5. Dunno how it could end up, but Legacy of Kain please 😀 Elder Scrolls could be an interesting thing. Probably as campaign that you never finish 😀 (I saw Skyrim BG, but know nothing about it, I've meant Elder Scrolls in general)

  6. I’m a little sour on the lists. Super mario brothers and Zelda would be made too childish for real gamers. Those would be made for retail.
We need a full FF7 campaign game that would be 3 times as li TG as gloomhaven. Still the best story in the history of video games.

  7. Isn't Adrenaline similar to board game Overwatch? Also there was a PnP board game called Kronocell which was similar to Team Fortress 2 (which is a game from which Overwatch was born), although that game did not get much momentum at the time.

  8. Of the top of my head I would most love to see Games Workshop turn Mechanicus and Vermintide into board games. They would make easy adaptations into Dungeon Crawlers.

Would also love to see Fantasy Flight make a Doom Eternal expansion as well, and make it true to the feel of the actual Doom 2016 franchise; and by that I mean they need to flip their usual Dscent/Imperial Assault style and make it one Hero vs. all Overlords. I really think they made a mistake by sticking to the mold of 1 vs. all games by making one bad guy/demon player and up to four good guy/doom marine players. I think it would have been far more exciting to have one Doom Slayer, wrecking balling his way through hordes of demons that all the other players are desperately throwing in his way to try and stop him from completing his objective, or maybe, somehow bringing him down for good. Each player could get a special command demon that comes with a certain amount of demons depending on how strong it is and the Doom Slayer gets more cards/lives/ammo/whatever the more demon players there are. I think that would make me dig up that game again and go to town. I can just imagine being there with all the other demon players biting our nails as we watch the human bulldozer that is the Doom Slayer smash through our lines. Trembling demons getting pulverized by one madman is what Doom 2016/Doom Eternal is all about.

I would also go crazy for a Shadows of Brimstone (maybe less on the rules bloat though) Diablo 1/2 board game series.

Other than that I would really love to see board game adaptations Reus, Darkwood, Subnautica, and Oddworld. I think Reus would make a great competitive city/world builder. Darkwood I could totally see being a semi-co-op survival game about escaping the titular Darkwood, where players could be incentivized or corrupted into attack one another. Subnautica could make a great, survival/exploration campaign co-op. Oddworld franchise could have a cool puzzle game twist on a dungeon crawler where you need to sneak around and sabotage industrial projects or free animals and Mudokons.

I suppose a proper Mass Effect game could be cool too, but the franchise lost my confidence that it can produce anything worthwhile years ago, and like you said ISS Vanguard someone fills that niche (though the tone and world are a bit different). I also really enjoyed Dragon Age back in the day, but I just feel no desire for an adaptation since Stormsunder and Arena seem to already capture much of that Dragon Age gameplay feel and have even more interesting settings to me.

  9. Top 5:
    5) Castle Crashers (ghost stories style game)
    4) Dragon Age (great series, Inquisition is a must play Alex)
    3) Hollow Knight (near and far style with a bit more combat)
    2) Dead Space
    1) Mega Man (a good game, unlike the one from a few years ago)

  10. That's funny because at the Times there was a rumour of mythic games bringing bringing a big IP on tabletop, i was pretty sure it was Overwatch (turn out it was rainbow six of course)

  11. A real co-op tactic shooter based on Predator or far cry or something similar with a great AI.
    Publisher: Ares Games
They could use Galaxy Defenders and do an update and reskin…
