100 Thieves PISSED at Valorant LCQ Format

A lot of Valorant pros seem to hate the newly announced format for the VCT Last Chance Qualifier for Champs, with basically the entire 100 Thieves roster and Nadeshot speaking out against the single elimination brackets.

Riot just revealed the new brackets for the VCT Last Chance Qualifier for Valorant Champions, and the initial response from a lot of pros and nearly all of 100 Thieves was “we hate this format, change it”.

Riot has made the first two rounds of the LCQ single elimination, so all ten teams have a chance to go home and lose their shot at Valorant Champions after losing a single round. Nadeshot spoke out against this new LCQ format, calling it a head scratcher, before deleting his tweet. Other 100 Thieves members also took shots at the strange format.

100 Thieves Asuna called the LCQ format bad, nitr0 said no LAN event should ever be single elimination, and Hiko responded that he was definitely not a fan of the single elimination format. So with dozens of players and one of the best known teams in pro Valorant hating on the LCQ format, will Riot make changes like they did with Berlin Masters? If so, they only have a few days left to pull the trigger.

  1. Australian teams got screwed the most out of this. Such a terrible format. Should be the play in stage as single elim and everything else double elim. Every team hates this format not just 100T

  2. This is a Fake News show❗️
This dude Jake lies just like CNN.
You guys have to see BadBoy Beaman’s video on him. It’s great and catches him in a bunch of lies!
Also, he wants to call out BBB for riding coattails when that’s all this dude does. That’s all this show is. It’s the Entertainment Tonight fake people kissing trendy Hollywood butt.
It’s like the E channel talk soup.
This guy Jake has called out cheaters many of times. That’s how I know what this show is. He also always talked about Nick and Tim calling out Swagg and Symphaggy for cheating.
    Hypocrite Fake News!

  4. Single elim is fine. You only complain if you think you can't win without luck or being able to wear others down. Bring your a game and play your best. If you lose then you aren't fit to continue.

  5. It's a "last chance qualifiers", aside from the Australian teams I don't feel bad for the others. They had Masters 1,2,3 to get points and they shouldn't place all their hopes on the LCQ

  6. pretty trash format honestly. they could have done something more that just a single one and done and if you lose go home, thats trash. its like round robins are not a thing or best of 3 or best of 5 and so forth like their is a lot of better options.

  7. I also think single elim is worse than double elim for building story narratives that'll keep the most viewers invested in watching a tourney till the end. Berlin had it's most exciting matches in groups and the grand finals just felt kind of empty compared to Iceland's Masters 2 finals where we got to watch the 2 teams that made it there go through separate journeys

  8. What's so hard about a double Elim all the way???
Just fucking copy paste the Iceland format BOOM DONE!
You already made your homework, don't remake it if it works

  9. Esports Talk with another L showing the reaction and not discussing any possible reasons as to 'why', Looks like it was venue booking issues forcing a shorter format, which is different from the Berlin situation since they can't as easily pivot to a tangential format easily given the limited time. If you're gonna report on esports at least go beyond reading tweets and reddit posts my guy, it's so superficial and why your channel is sinking.

  10. What's crazy is that everyone is also pissed at the format, not just 100 Thieves. And if Riot refuses to make changes, they are basically punishing them with a possible chance of best of 1, solo players only. Nonsense I know.

But in all seriousness, the way Riot is punishing everyone by a format is throwing everyone under the bus just so they can milk more money out of them. And what i wanna know is… What is Riot's motive on punishing the teams with a single elimination format?
