12 NEW Soulslike Games of 2021 And Beyond That Are Looking Brilliant

Since FromSoftware released Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls in the space of two years over a decade ago, the Souslike sub-genre has not only been pioneered, it’s also become widely popular.

Every year we get games that take cues from From’s classics in some way or the other- level design, boss battles, difficulty curve, corpse runs, storytelling style, or a combination of some or all of the above. In the coming months and years, we’re going to see even more such games coming out, and here, we’re going to talk about a few of them.

  1. I know resident evil village is a survival horror title BUT at least aesthetic wise and structure design reminds me of souls borne games more than most of actual souls borne games of the future.

  2. Black Myth Wukong looks to be great. But that game is still years from now to be released and most of the footage is mostly focused on hiring more devs. I just hope Tencent or any Chinese gaming giant having ties with the CCP influence the production of the game. We just want to see their mythology, no BS propaganda.

  3. Souls like? Pay homage to the OG . Ninja gaiden was for experts only not just run behind and stab. It took sheer will and time to complete a ninja gaiden (my opinion)

  4. Soulslike doesn’t mean anything anymore. On top of that most games I’ve tried in the genre weren’t much fun, undoubtedly mostly because I’m not good at them but I also find the design really bland in most cases.

  5. So, I get my PS5. I get Demons Souls remake for it. Never played a souls game. So uh, are they all that difficult/unforgiving or is this one the only ahole of the bunch? 😂😂😂 The games all look amazing. 😭

  6. It's amazing how many of these game graphically look like something I would have played back in the late 80s to mid-90s LoL 😆
He keeps referring to it as a gorgeous art style, but it looks more old-school retro than anything.
