In this video today, I’m basically going to be doing a review of the new 120 FPS mode for next console Fortnite. This was added to the game about a week ago at this point, and since then, I’ve not only played on it a few times myself to test it out, but I’ve also been watching streams and videos of other console players using it as well. The reason being, just because Fortnite advertised this new setting as 120 FPS mode, that didn’t necessarily mean that it was going to be a consistent 120 FPS, and that also didn’t mean it was guaranteed to be super smooth. Just think about previous gen, sure the game absolutely ran at 60 FPS, but anytime you got into super chaotic situations and especially during stacked end games, you’d be playing on more like 40 FPS than 60. Plus I was also interested to see if 120 FPS mode had any other positives such as decreased input lag. I remember that was a big thing when 120 FPS mode was added to mobile, apparently on 60 FPS the input lag was pretty noticeable, but then as soon as the FPS got bumped up, the input lag apparently also got bumped down. So, without further ado, let’s get right into it.
