Story-telling is an art and like many forms of creative expression, video game story-telling can be especially unique. Narratives can unfold in linear fashion or non-sequentially while making the player an active participant in events. And while some stories can be relatively straightforward, others are complex to the point of requiring multiple playthroughs. Let’s take a look at 14 titles with some of the more complex stories out there.

no bioshock?
Basically any Japanes game ever made. Although I don't think they are intentionally complex just reaaaaaally dumb.
Death stranding doesn't even have a story. It's literally just nonsense.
I love death strandings story
Bioshock infinite was missed
Eternal Darkness on GameCube
Anything like Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and others with ridiculous side games with even more ridiculously sounding names
Glad to see VN got some love.
the video description is "Life is Strange" which is not mentioned in the video.
Death stranding is so complex tha-WAIT is that a MONSTER ENERGY DRINK?… Anyway, yeah death stranding is sooo complex Tha-WAIT! Is that CONAN WITH A GOOFY HAT?… Anyhow… Yeah with fewer neurons and a lot of flashy products and famous people I bet many things would seem very complex…
complex can be mistaken for convoluted because the credits
Super mario
MGS 2 was ahead of it's time.
Saw this and immediately though kingdom hearts.
I still have no idea WTF is going on. 😒
honestly surprised not to see Xenogears, the Xenosaga trilogy, any of the Xenoblade Chronicles franchise or any of the Drakengard & Nier games….
Awesome
This is why I love gaming bolt.. because they truly know their games..not even big sites like ign and GameSpot have reviewed and know so many games…so when they say most complex stories In gaming you inow they know what they are talking about.. because a really well known game like metal gear solid is here.. but also cold steel iv..which comes from an amazing jrpg series..that the big sites do not give attention to..love your work guys… especially because you pay respect with your news and reviews for my favourite genre jrpgs…it means a lot to me..love from Greece
I would also put xenoblade 2 because it is basically the alternate universe of xenoblade 1 and possible one of the many universes of the overall xeno multiverse..but even without that amazing video…i have a suggestion best rpg lore/world building top 20…i would love that..big jrpg fan here..love from Greece
I love Killer7. It was the first rated M game I ever played.
Good list. Really well chosen entries and good variety.
What?!? No Judgement or Yakuza game?
