Backwards compatibility for PS4 titles on the PS5 has been an interesting journey thus far. The PS5’s Boost Mode offers performance gains and/or other improvements for existing PS4 titles.

On the other hand, some titles will receive dedicated updates that leverage the console’s power in much better ways but there are still plenty of games that are missing out. Let’s take a look at 15 such titles that desperately need these patches.

  1. Nier: Automata with a locked 60 fps, a resolution increase, and potentially fix the stutter issue would benefit a lot more than GT Sport, which is about to be replaced by GT7.

  2. Ever since I got an oled TV I had to avoid 30fps games due to them looking super choppy on a oled panel. That being said I missed out on horizon zero dawn and uncharted 4, two really good games I wish I played. I have a ps5 now so the 60fps library is much better (days gone was incredible cant wait for part 2) Hoping horizon zero dawn gets a 60fps boost, as it would be sucky not to play the new one when it comes out later this year because I never played the first one. Many people I know are in same boat avoiding 30fps games on high end tvs dues to fast pixel response (its a good thing) making 30fps really show its age…

  4. Good list, but you omitted Crash Team Racing, RDR2 and The Last Guardian. Especially considering this latter game can already run at 60 fps if you have the disc version and uninstall patches. So the code already supports the higher frame rate, Sony just needs to unlock it.
