Oh, uh if you really want to excavate an ancient city, just use a world eater design but limit it to a couple blocks before it reaches the top of it and mine it out yourself.
What if the mud brick was used in the mangrove swamp for a swamp village and some houses changed slightly if it was in a regular swamp

The mud brick desert temple 100% looks better than the standard one. I think the darker color makes it look older and more archaeology-esque (rip 1.17).
