Pyro is outclassed as a backline by other careers and since more than 1 backline is risky putting her in the front might be the best way to use her. 1h sword damage has the best synergy because of the huge damage increase on headshots and crits. Bolt staff has very good breakpoints on pyro and is an easy way to get Hunter uptime for your melee. Blazing Echo can be a good meme at times. Played like a Pepega in the event but the rest of the run was decent.

I love 1 hand sword Pyro. Makes her feel usable in melee. Now I just wish her sword had the same move set as the elf's

1H Sword is good in general (especially for me because I play mostly VT1), I keep wondering why it's not mentioned in any build guide.

Is 1hsword pyro stronger than 1hsword unchained?
Feels like I definitely do more damage with pyro even with unchained’s melee buffs
Having played Pyromancer for the majority of my time in the game, i can say what makes her truly great is her ability to double up with any other role on the team at any given moment (Except tank for obvious reasons.) Having looked at your build, I still like to use enhanced power myself, so i can dedicate other props elsewhere to hit a few other body-shot break points on the bolt staff. I also still like to use flail for it's stagger power, but…that's just me. I'll still break out the 1h sword from time to time.
This has been my go-to setup for the pyromancer for years.
The 1H sword is just a solid weapon all around.
