  1. Not saying it can't happen, but I'm still very doubtful SMTV will be releasing this year. So far we've only gotten two trailers, neither of which contain any gameplay. So unless they show it off in an upcoming Direct I can't really say I'm anticipating it for a 2021 release.

  2. I'm excited for most of these games. The one that has my heart is Neo. I have fond memories of playing TWEWY on DS. Super hyped to play a new one! Other than that Monster Hunter Rise and stories.

  3. Half of the list is what I am also hyped for in this year, while the other half are actually games I've never even heard about. Overall, I think that is a very solid list and I can't wait to play some of these!

  4. Persona 5 Strikers is my most anticipated game of the year!! Followed by both SMTs (if 5 makes it this year) and Cris Tale. The Fantasian game looks amazing, but I don't have an Apple product. And thanks for showing off that 16-bit RPG…I forgot the title but I'm definitely going to be looking it up!

  5. I'm really hoping we getTales of Arise this year. I'm looking forward to a lot of the things you had on your list. I'm a diehard Nier fan, Automata is one of my all time favorite games. I've also never really played many of the SMT games but have had an interest in them for a while, maybe this will be the year to get into them. I'm also really looking forward to pretty much all the games Bandai Namco is gunna give us. They do spoil us sometimes.

  6. The Good Life, No More Heroes 3 and Nier Replicant are my 3 most anticipated games.

I do want to add Breath of the Wild 2 and Bayonetta 3. But I honestly don't know if they are even coming out this year.

  7. Wow that's a whole lot of games to be excited for and ironically one of them is coming out next week with early and the other 1 is coming out Immediately near the start of next month lol. But yeah that's a whole lot to be excited for and the games I'm honestly excited for are the following ones tales of arise of course, Neo the world ends with you, Nier Replicant 1938373362828( There's no way I'm gonna replicate all those numbers you crazy!?), Alterier Ryza 2 which is coming out next week so I am all set with that, Rune Factory 5, Disgaea 6( Which shockingly even my friends are also excited for that when I told them that that's going to be coming out this year) and my February game Ys 9. I said originally that I was gonna get persona 5 strikers in February but then Ys 9 was announced for immediately the first week of February and due to my decrease in liking Persona, I found my February game in Ys 9 after playing the demo which was a lot of fun. Despite the fact that I can't save my progress and we were only given 10 minutes Per those 2 stages but I am very excited for it. Very solid list of stuff to be excited for and can't wait for Ryza 2 next week! Oh and still waiting for more news on Tales of Arise because seriously that game better come out this year. Great job with the video!

  8. I'm interested in almost every games you mentionned in your video but my most anticipated all comes out in February:

    1- YS IX
    2- Persona 5 Strikers
    3- Bravely Default 2
honorable mention to Super Mario 3D World on switch.

what a month. And March doesn't really give his place too with Yakuza 7 (PS5 version that I'm waiting), Saviors of Sapphire Wings and Cris Tales.

Thanks to April, I might get a chances to get through all of them but I Might need to make choices at some points haha.

  9. I'm looking forward to

Persona 5 Strikers (I've waited since the game was announced in Japan)

Nier Replicant VER.1.22474487139 (kudos to you for saying the title out loud)

Did not know about Tetris Effect Connected! I'm also gonna buy that on Steam so I can play it with my sister. I love Tetris Effect 🤩

    Tales Of Arise(but I think it's a 2022 release)

It Takes Two. It's made by Hazelight who made A Way Out. It looks like a lot of fun.

Cris Tales looks like a nice title.

And I hope that Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio will anounce a new Yakuza game this year. I know it probably will release next year in Europe but it's always good to look forward to new Yakuza games.

And it would be a miracle if we got a new Ace Attorney game. Capcom don't let the franchise die, please! 😅

  10. I think I’m just going to have to accept the fact that I’m never going to get caught up with all the games that are and will be on my backlog, and just go with want I want to play whenever I want to play it. Like Horizon: Zero Dawn, I’ve already beaten it 100% before so I can’t really justify it to myself to play it again, but I really want to replay it before I start Forbidden West. Same thing with Spider-Man and Miles Morales, but that one’s even worse because I’ve already beaten Spider-Man 100% TWICE lol. And now you’re telling me I’ve got a TWEWY sequel ahead of me too?! I think half of this year is just going to be me replaying games I’ve already played before because it’s been too long since I’ve last gone through them…

In other news, Poison Control looks so cute! I want to play it just because of the character design alone.

I’m so excited for Tales of Arise, and unbelievably hyped for RE8! In many ways RE7 became my unexpected favorite game in the series, so I’m expecting good things from RE8.

Also, HOLY SHIT has it really been that long since Shadowbringers came out?! You mentioned the new expansion coming this year, and I’m like, “Wait… this year? Already?” But no you’re right, it’s supposed to be here this summer… Wow. WELP. Here’s to taking down the empire, and to the new jobs, whatever they may be! (inb4 we finally get a 4th healer and 4th caster, and no, blue mage doesn’t count lol)

And lastly, I can’t believe how much of an actual sequel Persona 5 Strikers is. I really expected it to be as pertinent to the story as Persona 4 Arena was (which it really wasn’t, in my opinion). But clips I’ve seen of it show that it has pretty much the exact same presentation as the original game, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful. It looks like a spinoff/sequel done right, which (again, in my opinion) is a first for the series. It’s going to be the perfect birthday present.

  11. My top anticipated in 2021 list: Balan Wonderworld, Guilty Gear Strive, KoF XV, Ratchet, Kena, Tales of Arise, Scarlet Nexus, Baldo, R-Type Final 2, Aleste Branch, Sable, Tunic, Eastward, Dordogne. I wish Fantasian were coming somewhere besides Apple Arcade.

  12. Yo, I didn't even know Chained Echoes was a thing, that looks rad as heck! Also, Fantasian looks awesome, but I really hope it comes to a platform besides Apple Arcade…
I'm pretty excited for almost everything on this list myself, and another big one for me is SaGa Frontier for PS4 and Switch. A remaster of the PSone original, it's going to restore lost content from the initial release and feature a brand new localization!

Also, am I the only one who finds it a little funny that there are almost no games slated for the PS5 and Series X|S? xD

  13. Great video and look ahead! Psyched for POKÉMON SNAP and my fingers are crossed for some Zelda remasters for Switch this anniversary year (come on WINDWAKER!).

So, is this NIER game a remake of the original? I haven’t played any of the series, but I’ve always been meaning to.

  14. Provided most of these games do release this year, 2021 might be one of my favourite years in gaming. We'll see!

Here's some of my picks, from least to most excited.

Super Mario: 3D World + Bowser's Fury. While I already own 3D World on the Wii U, the online co-op and brand new game mode Bowser's Fury have me excited to get the Switch version. Hopefully Bowser's Fury offers enough content to make it a worthwhile purchase, too.

Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne: Remastered. If it weren't for the technical issues, and the fact that I've already finished this game three times, I'd be a bit more enthusiastic about one. Hopefully the afformentioned issues get patched out and the worldwide release is free from them, because I'd gladly jump into my favourite turn-based RPG again if only to experience the Raidou encounter and earn some SMT trophies.

Balan Wonderworld. Sonic and Nights creator Yuji Naka has partnered up with Sonic's original character designer, and the folks at Square Enix, to give us a unique 3D action platformer. The Nights parallels are strong, with Balan acting as a guide for characters who are stuck at a crossroad in their life, so expect some creative scenarios and levels out of that. I just hope the game itself is as good as its presentation.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis. This is essentially a brand new game within PSO2. A complete visual and gameplay overhaul, taking place thousands of years after the base game. I love PSO2, and appreciate it for its distinct SEGA charm, cool Japanese sci-fi aesthetic, immersive quality, fast-paced gameplay and the levity it's provided me during a rough year. I'm not usually an MMO guy, but PSO2 was right up m alley, and its commitment to fun is something I can get behind. So when I've finally caught up with the rest of the game, I'll be ready to dive into New Genesis and see what it has to offer, later this year.

Clive 'n' Wrench. I love 3D collectathon platformers, so this looks right up my alley. It's been in development for years, so I hope all the hard work from the small team pays off!

Gungrave Gore. I haven't heard much news about this game during 2020, which is concerning. I hope it's still on-track for a 2021 release worldwide, because I love Gungrave and its characters. This game looks to improve upon the first two;s gameplay substantially, so I can't wait to see what Red Entertainment have learned after so long. And of course, I wanna know what struggles Grave, Mika and the others will face.

Neo: The World Ends with You. Despite experiencing the first game in a less-than-ideal way (Switch version), I still really enjoyed TWEWY. It's one of the only Square Enix RPG's I like, and while I do wish they'd have left the conclusive ending of the first game alone, I am excited for ths sequel and what it can offer, especially in the gameplay department. Thankfully, since it's being made from the ground-up in 3D, with console controllers in mind, I won't have to put up with any weird input concessions this time around. Plus seeing Sho Minamimoto returning as a partner this time around is a strong indicator that the story will get crazy, hectic, and oh so engaging.

No More Heroes III. This game got pushed back to 2021, which was to be expected, and joked at in one of the earlier trailers. Still, I'm confident that this will be one of Grasshopper's best games to date, if Travis Strikes Again was any indicator, because SUDA51 is back at the helm of director. Now that they're not under the same corporate mandate that plagued their games after NMH1, this will hopefully mean the team doesn't feel the need to meet a quota, and be "zainy and whacky" for the sake of it. Basically, whatever they do, I hope it's genuinely what they wanted, and any concessions they make are of their own choice. Grasshopper's combat design has gradually improved, so if they're taking what they learned from Killer Is Dead and TSA, this might be their best gameplay experience so far.

Shin Megami Tensei V. This is one of my favourite series, so of course SMT V would be at my number 1. While we still need to see more of the game, I mostly know what to expect. All the improvements to Nocturne's Press-turn combat system over the years carried over, further QOA improvements that put the rest of the genre to shame, addictive demon-fusion and negotiation, and a return to the more profound style of Nocturne, according to interviews. This was one of the first Switch games to be revealed, and I'm excited for this 4 year long wait to finally end. If it's everything I hoped for, SMT V will likely steal the crown as my Game of the Year.

  15. What a list! I can maybe convince myself to skip five of these but the financial damage will be severe from the other 17 😬

Right now though Bravely Default 2 is my most anticipated game, the second demo destroyed all my worries about the project and it's just so close!!!

  16. I hope Bayonetta will release in 2021. That's why I have bought the switch in the first place.
Very nice compilation. The Good Life looks pretty sweet. It is for sure a very entertaining adventure game. If only the production value was higher. At first glance I thought it just looks very cheap
I completely agree with Scarlet Nexus and Ryza 2, very excited for those. And also RE Village. RE7 was just brilliant. Can't wait to continue the story.
That FF board game ? Man, exclusive to Apple – that might be the reason why it isn't on any list HAHA.
Get going and have a successful year 2021. You are making the awesome videos 🙂
