Tips:
1. The wooden platform with the spider webs is called an abandoned mineshaft
2. You can use coordinates to navigate when you are lost, just use F3 to see it
3. You can ice-fish, just make sure not to fall into the water and have the ice blocks freeze above you
4. You should use both the mega platform and the platform near the icy river as bases since the icy river base is convenient for ice-fishing and you can see very far on the mega platform
