Here are 3 things that I know will help YOU improve in Apex Legends. Some people may know about these settings already, but I figured I’d make a video explaining why. Again, these tips are personal preference. You don’t have to do what I say! Thank you for watching the video!

  2. Interesting considerations! I have CTRL for crouch, as I assume most people do. Binding it to a mouse button is interesting, I might try it. But I think I'm just too used to CTRL at this point and have gotten my pinky finger used to crouching while holding the WASD keys. I feel pretty confident in my crouch-shooting but I might give it a try!
I am conflicted about the death box thing, because I often make the mistake of pressing the Escape key to get out of a death box, which of course takes you to the game menu, not back to your game.. So I think kicking me from the box when I get shot would be good for me. Literally threw a game the other day because I got stuck in the game menu while trying to get out of a death box, but that just means I need to stop doing it wrong.

  3. +1 to more informative stuff! One question; what do you do with your pinky when playing? I've seen people use the mouse buttons for crouch but I've gotten used to spam-crouching from 1.6 days so I don't really think I have a problem with using ctrl with my pinky. Is there just something you found you lost when keeping it on ctrl? Like strafing or something?

  4. Crouch on mouse is new I have only two buttons on the side of my mouse; I use the heal wheel and grenade wheel with ctrl as crouch. I'll try out swapping crouch and grenades. Thanks for some new ideas, it's good to mix it up once in a while to improve your gameplay.

  5. Great videos lately @tannerslays! 👍🏼
A little suggestion for future series that could be made either as a basic shorter vid or as a one/legend series.

I have soloQ-ed for 99% of my 800h in apex. Have a good game sense and all, but since I haven't played much in a team I lack knowledge in legend tactical roles. For example, What should BH do to be useful for the team. Be passive and provide scans for the wraith? Things like this. How and when should Gibby use his dome? How to plan around cooldowns regarding dome and such. This could be such a huge deep series where I know you have so much experience and credibility. Also. How to thinking in regards to all this without a pre-made and with a pre-made.

Hope you understand my vision of it 🙂

  6. If you're like me and can't stand the 'crawlies' with AA off, try leaving it on and enabling CAS (Contrast Adaptive Sharpening) if you're on an AMD graphics card. I find this to give the best overall results in-game. nVidia cards probably have a similar setting, but I can't vouch for it.

  7. I couldn't disable TSAA, that's because you have to disable the Adaptive Supersampling and also bring the FPS target to 0. Oddly enough it seems smoother with the Adaptive supersampling on, but honestly TSAA is so overrated or overused, when all it does it blur your game a whole bunch and bring your frames down.
I'll try the crouch on mouse button as well, and it makes sense seeing how jump and crouch are the most useful functions to have on your mouse (I have jump on M4 already, for bhopping and walljumping). Thanks for the tips!

Also I realized yesterday I have been playing with Windows mouse acceleration on this whole time… and that the NVIDIA layout (for recording) actually sinks your frames a whole lot, even in the background. Plus my Game Mode and Xbox Bar settings were all enabled in Windows… go check these things out, they could give you some more performance.

  8. I'll have to try the crouch on mouse key bind. I currently have my use healing/healing radial menu bound on my mouse. Do you have any plans to make videos where you walk us through your decision making mid-fight?
