Cyberpunk 2077’s release has been anything but smooth. If you’ve been watching FudgeMuppet recently, then you would have heard about our strong feelings towards the game; both positive and negative. We enjoyed playing through the main story, the side character arcs, and soaking up the beautiful art design while utilizing some powerful and fun builds – like our Neurotoxin Netrunner build. But we also found that certain aspects of the game, primarily choice and consequence, and open world features, really let us down. While some of the main flaws are unlikely to be fixed, as it would involve changing too much core content, there’s definitely some improvements that could be made which would make the game world feel way more lived in, and give it more substance in addition to it’s already beautiful style. In today’s video we’re going to be more positive, and simply look at 5 features, that are within the realms of realism, that CDPR could start working on right now to make Cyberpunk a better game. Consider this video a very small taste of what’s to come in our Ideal Cyberpunk 2077 video, where we’ll be taking you through all of our ideas on how we’d ideally make Cyberpunk the best game possible.

For a quick summary of our thoughts, we found the game to be good in the sense that there’s a solid main story, a beautiful world-aesthetic/art design, and cool characters with some neat side quests. However, because we all played through picking different choices, we quickly realized that the game underdelivers when it comes to player choice & consequence, as well as the idea of ‘living’ in the game. Cyberpunk 2077 does not give the player that much agency, and you definitely can’t ‘be anyone’ or ‘do anything’ in the world. You are V, and you play V’s story. That said, it’s worth stating that we had a lot of fun playing this story and enjoying the different playstyles on offer.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action RPG developed and published by CD Projekt. Mike Pondsmith, the creator of Cyberpunk, was a consultant during game production, and actor Keanu Reeves has a starring role. The player assumes the first-person perspective of V, a mercenary who has three different life backgrounds for the player to choose from. The game takes place in Night City, an open world area set in the Cyberpunk universe. As the player completes quests and levels up, they can develop their abilities in hacking, technical skills, and various melee and ranged combat styles.

  1. If they just added these little things to add to immersion and quality of life this game would’ve turned from a 7 to an 8 for me it’s so frustrating because this game is in the verge of greatness

  2. They should also add that you are able to interact with your companions from the story like go on a date with whoever you romanced going partying, gambling, being able to invite them to your apartment because after you complete all of the side jobs and gigs the world just feels empty

  3. Difficulty and New Game+. My big two wishes for this game. The game feels like it was meant to have a new game+, and it easily could be incorporated with a new difficulty. I think with a New game+ mode they need to give this game a Borderlands treatment and create a "bad ass" difficulty where enemies will scale or just get harder etc. Could call it "Samurai" difficulty only unlocked when you get the game and activate New Game+. My first playthrough was pure and blind, no guides or builds, ended the game at lvl 30ish on Hard (I skipped a bunch of the fluff side stuff) Beat the game and thought "That was it?" Was shocked there wasn't a new game+ at least. Went through a second play through to 100% the game at Very Hard, got to 50, everything dies in shot, either by hack or by weapon. Which made the game feel too easy and lost all challenge. The first 10 levels or so on very hard pissed me off but once I got rolling it just didn't feel like much of a challenge.

  4. I agree with you Promise Unfulfilled video. Keanu destroyed this game. Perhaps the game would have been done if the CDPR exects didn't make them rebuild the story around a celebrity. Especially when a whole fucking ending is sacrificed to him. It's just so disappointing.

  5. I wish the mainquests were longer because I really don't like the "replayability" of the ending only. Yes ending only.
I don't think there is a huge difference in the Nomand path and the Street Kid path, maybe that's just me. (Dragon Age Origins, 2009, did this way better)

Also why is Judys questline so long? Maybe I played the story wrong but does it change the ending? Does she have an effect on the ending and i don't mean romance-wise?

Why are Pams, Rivers and Kerrys questlines so short compared to hers? For me that's not very balanced and unfair.

I can tolerate bugs or glitches.. but a short mainquest-story cannot be patched or changed can it?

  6. The easiest way for them to "fix" the storyline and remove the urgency from pretty much day one of the story, would be to simply make it so that after the first mission with jackie (after you get to Night City), they unlock the map and let you explore and play until you reach street cred 30 or something and then the main story unlocks for you.

  7. Hey a neat idea would be to use Delamain Jr an actual self driving car because that's what the AI was designed to due in the story but the state the driving ai is in cdpr is probably never going to do it.

  8. Allowing the full ability to mod the game (similar to the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games) would be a nice addition. Not only the modders fix bugs or improve UI, Gameplay, etc. ; but also adding in new content. Imagine mods that add cyberpunk content from Neuromancer, Blade Runner, Bubblegum Crisis, Akira, even Lain: Serial Experiments among others.)

  9. It’s simple they just need to add the rest of the game seriously like am I the only one who feels like this games such a halfassed game? No sound for a lot of animations and people dancing to no music the way npcs act and how it lets your “talk” to npcs it’s al such a disappointment this games a lost cause

  10. They need to change the inventory system.
-Allow players to favorite weapons/items/cosmetics, thereby making them inaccessible for scrapping.
-Marking multiple items as “trash” and scrap all trash items at once, for example, the division’s dismantle system.

  11. Hey Fudgemuppet, appreciate all the CP77 videos. I've been wondering about a Silverhand build, and how it'd be best to spread the attributes? Since you guys are the professionals when it comes to themed builds, I'm hoping maybe you'd have some input on it, or even a build video? Thanks and keep it up with the amazing vids!
