  1. The licker falling through the glass dome in the original Resident Evil 2 was an effective jump scare. It was in the room where set the red jewels into a couple of reliefs to open up this guy's chest to obtain an item.

    Another good one is the original, if you play on the right difficulty (I believe it was arrange), Forrest would reanimate.

  2. Yeah I legit still have nights where Mr. X and Nemesis are trying to kill me… it’s not cool… these games are great but stressful as heck… and apparently on some level ptsd inducing. I hear the people stomping up the stairs outside my apartment and my BP, heart rate, and stress level jump for about 20 minutes… I enjoyed the story in the games I played but uh they still pop up in my dreams sometimes, which sucks cause I don’t sleep well at the best of times.

  3. A classic one for me was the first licker you see in RE2. Coming around the corner and seeing it shimmy up the window so fast and disappearing. My reaction=what the F was that?!

  4. The Comms Officer fight was the absolute scariest event of any video game I've ever played. The beautiful music of the promenade deck cutting out to absolute silence only broken that monster's efforts to send his mayday call will forever haunt me. Having to put the beast down while he begs for help was brutal. Poor guy. I felt like it was "itchy tasty" brought to life in terrible detail.

  5. The Regeneradors from Resident Evil 4, I'm very surprised they aren't on this list. I don't scare easy but the sound of their breathing and the music is enough to induce panic in me. Yeesh!

  6. Hey hey hey! I have a really good list idea that would be difficult to do research on but would be a REALLY GOOD list idea! Dx

    Top games that take FOREVER to like SAVE. As in– when you go to the save screen, and you hit "save" it TAKES the console/computer/etc FOREEEVER to SAVE the game for you- With a message that says "Saving…" Or "Overwriting save file…" Fantasy Life on 3DS is a great example of this, when I would play it on my original 3DS I would literally set my 3DS down and boil water or something while waiting for the thing to overwrite my old save xD; TONS of games used to do this, too, and I think the list should take into account WHEN the game was released and WHAT you would've been playing it on originally.

    OBVIOUSLY games DON'T take like ANY TIME AT ALL to save anymore! We've been SPOILED and FORGOTTEN the days when saving your game could take ten, fifteen, even as many as thirty seconds! Especially on newer and nicer consoles and computers, hell autosaving is so common in so many games now, half the time when you're playing a game you don't even NOTICE when it saves! Forget the saving-game time on like a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, I barely even notice the LEVEL loading on mine, so I imagine I wouldn't even notice trying to overwrite an old save anymore xD;
    I think it'd be a really good nostalgia trip list idea!!! DX

  7. you never mentioned Margarite the amazing human hornet nest and capable of turning herself into something resembling the creature from the Blair witch 2 ……..if anything Mr.X was scarier in the remake because in the original you SAW him arrive in the remake he pops up just as you think your about to make some real progress lol…….personally I also think the regenerator from 4 was scary as hell too when you first find it because you think its just an experimented on body only to find out its one of the strongest and scariest creatures in the game because other than the creepy rasping sound it makes off and on screen you have to use a dam infared scope just to be able to kill it…….what I'm hoping is in Village we're finally going to learn what the Umbrella symbol means because you can't have that keep poping up even after the so called "end of Umbrella" without it meaning something

  8. Not exactly a jump scare, but nothing made RE2 more memorable than listening for Mr. X's footsteps while hiding in a safe room. Mr. X himself was pretty predictable, but stick him in a room with some zombies or worse, a licker, and that could bad time all around.

  9. Don't forget Nemesis breaking into the safe room in the Resident Evil 3 remake. Granted, he only does this at higher difficulty levels, and only in a couple of areas, but having him show up into one of the few places that have always been considered completely safe in these games was horrifying.

  10. Nemesis being able to follow you is by far the most terrifying moment I experienced in RE. You can avoid some of the other moments or be safe just by going into another room. Jack stalking you is just a modern Nemesis also.

  11. Little extra on RE:7, since not everyone has access to the VR version, but all of the most terrifying moments in it, are tenfold. The Chris DLC even made me turn off the game, which is not fun when done with the headset still on, and out of fear while immersed. Do note that I really hope RE:8 comes on VR too.

  12. William birkin giving the mayor a mouthwash and later burst out from him is a memorable one indeed in RE 2.
    Or in the remake when mr x forcefully opens the elevator slowly when your about to go down the sewers….

  13. Oh we gotta talk about the weird breathing monster in res. E. 4 in the fidge. You need to go there to get the thermal scope and you can see a big monster on a rack that you hadnt seen before. Once you de thaw the fridge the monster starts moving and wheezing and thus begins a terrifying miniboss fight inside a fridge the size of my dorm closet
