  1. Hmm. I'm not really sure I'd personally consider these particular games to have been killed by fan backlash. Most of these seem to have had other major problems. I guess having a very unpopular entry might be considered "fan backlash" but I guess I was picturing something more akin to XCOM announcing it was becoming a third-person shooter: that fan response seemed to cause the publisher to stop, reevaluate, and choose to release the game as a spin-off rather than an official XCOM entry. Not quite the "killing" suggested by the title, but it wasn't a sequel any longer.

Well, just my thoughts on the list. Still a fine video and a fun think piece.

  2. When it comes to you guys talking about the splinter cell games and how no other game has been as good in the stealth section i feel you guys are neglecting the dishonored series, pretty much if you want the real ending you have to be ghostly.

  3. Last of us 3 is cancelled? Bummer. Love the original. The second one is not the same, mainly because of the maps being less linear, kinda kills the pacing of the story. The first one had it down perfect. Just my opinion

  4. "cataclysmic waste of money"

Say what you will about Anthem, it brought one good thing in the genre which is proper verticality in terms of gameplay and encouraging you to explore because it's actually fun to fly. The game has so much potential considering the two or so years they crunched to make it (because overlords) but their overlords can't see beyond the lack of $$$ it was bringing in. I still have no faith in EA nor Bioware these days especially when news came out that DA4 was gonna be a live service before they realize their folly. But if I hope for anything, it's that hopefully, they use some of the tech from that game to make another, much better game.

  5. those assholes who were sending death threats and anti semitic comments should be hauled off to jail..it's a fuckin game! and not only that the game is damn good..alot of people are such cry babies and are so damn stupid yo…but I would rather see Naughty Dog create a new ip rather than a sequel to TLOS 2 or if they do make a sequel have it to where they're working on a new ip as well like they did with Uncharted 3 and the first Last of Us…Naughty Dog remains one of the greatest game studio of all time imo

  6. I loved Doom 3 growing up, and I’m not the only one. I don’t understand the hate, it’s just more of a true survival horror than a straight action FPS. People just hate change, yet, i’m sure if they made something similar to the older games, people would’ve complained that it wasn’t doing anything special at the time. Luckily, Doom 2016 changed that

  7. He lists everything went "wrong" with TLoU Pt.2 except Naughty Dog getting in touch with social media platform and having any memes, mentions of the leaks, or criticism of the game prior to release taken down or getting Muso TNT LMT to strike content creator's channels if they so much as even criticize the game or the fact that when these channels were getting strike and taken down, that "gaming journalists" from different publications (WhatCulture included) refuse to talk or even acknowledge that content creator's channels were getting threatened to be shut down and even taken to court. Some of whom, had Youtube/streaming as their lively hood and if taken down, they would have no income and no way to support themselves.

But those same "journalists" were quick to about how much Laura Bailey was a victim though!

  8. I feel like we will get a third Last of Us but it won't follow Ellie. I can see it being a prequel to bring Joel back, like what he and Tommy did before they parted ways and Joel ended up in Boston. It could even be set a couple decades in the future and follow Ellie and Dana's kid. I see a lot of potential for a third game.

  9. Are you folks ok or are you taking inspiration from IGN game "journalism"? Nobody killed TLOU 2. Matter of fact, it got a landslide GOTY award for the quality delivered in addition to the expected excellent storytelling. A vocal minority of incels getting mad a muscular lady does not constitute a consensus or "huge backlash"; rather it emphasises how people aren't accustom to change, yet love to criticise something for being the same. Face it, most gamers aren't very bright, evidently.

  10. Splinter Cell: Blacklist is the culmination of everything they learned making SC games, it’s a masterpiece and it’s an absolute shame the series ended with it. I didn’t even miss Ironside’s distractingly gravelly voice.

  11. How is TLOU3 cancelled? The team at Naughty Dog literally said if it was possible they would do a 3rd TLOU game after their next title which is currently kept under-wraps. Yes the team at Naughty Dog said their next project is being kept under-wraps.

  12. I call bullshit. There is no way that Sony abandons TLoU ip. Especially when they are making the HBO show, Factions 2, plus all of the game of the year awards. It might be 7 – 10 years from now but I'm sure there will be another game in that universe.
