We need to talk about the stale meta in Valorant and why Team Liquid might be saving the game from mediocrity.

glad youre talking about this and, hopefully more specifically in a later video, the potential issues that pro play presents to a game's community
pros must use the safest, most tried-and-true strategies in order to compete and earn a pay check. this can (and does) mean that they will establish a meta, play that meta until it stagnates, someone will innovate and that becomes the meta, it stagnates, and so on. every game with a pro scene has this happen, from shooters to fighting games, with players who need to win to buy food hesitant to break the mould unless they have some kind of epiphany and can hone it with their team/closest mates
honestly, ive been watching sovas and controllers rocking ops since launch and listening to my team give them shit over it because johnny pro gamer does something else. it's a terrible misunderstanding in the community, that the pros always do the most optimal thing all the time. this isnt true, they do the safest things all the time and only adapt when the earth moves beneath their feet
But of course
you need to hit shots
otherwise, it would be a different story
Jett operator? What is that ? I play viper operator
Hahaahahhaahahahahhahahaah OP GO BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Nivera uses op
Jamppi uses op
Soulcas can use op
Scream can use op
Op go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
dude i legit lost a match because our jett always saved his op he bought in round 3 🗿🗿🗿
I have literally and I mean literally talked to pros and coaches about this very concept but they're too small minded to consider the potential. The only coach that has the balls to risk their career on trying something new and vastly different to play against the hive mind is Sliggy, team Liquid's coach.
Bro this guy has some lit videos, wish my content was as gud as his 🙁
I told everyone that Sniper Viper is viable now maybe they will believe me
I feel like I've been called out, I typically OP on Jett because it's the gun associated with Jett the most, so I would sometimes go out of my way to try to use the Operator on her. It could also just have to do with how I feel more confident and secure using the gun on her, and how it's considered throwing using operator on an agent that's not Jett
actually big brain
What really impressed me is Team Liquids retakes with a double operator setup. Normally an operator retake seems nearly impossible and now you have TWO of team?! But they still managed to retake sites with their secondary gun (mostly frenzy or classic)!
I'd say it's less "Don't OP on Jett" and "You can OP on characters other than Jett"
I like playing OP on Jett, especially on defense but not for holding angles but for aggressive peaking. It is just so much fun to play. I dont think the problem is with Jett and OP but rather in how rigid mindset people have. People are going to flame you if you deviate from the default diamond (my rank) playstyle.
preach brother, especially about asuna. asuna is way too good on rifles to be an oper, but now nitro looks like he's oping on jett which makes sense, hopefully asuna gets back on the rifle
I want to be opping omen/cypher…. or i try to be
in my elo, replace OP with odin
this is by far the most mind blowing and opinion changing video made by you
YES!! Im a kj main who really cannot spray as well. I just use Marshal / Guardian / OP. And all the time I get non-believers saying "uhhh why you oping bro, you are kj" and eat their words when I get 2k or 3k and shut down the flanks.
Kj's utils are perfects for holding down angles with the op, provides so much info that you can confidently look down the sights and actually hold an angle without worrying about some other angle and trying to flick and losing the op 10 seconds into the game…
I noticed the gun switches. Realised that it’s a strat that they switch guns just before attacking a site. And I proceeded to ✨completely✨ forget about it during my games. Thanks for refreshing my memory! Cheers.
Viper is also a good oper, since she can controll what she sees and what the enemy sees with her smokes
Gambit also does this alot <3
love ur stuff man:)
me explaining why i died to enemy jetts op:
good video bro! keep up the good work 👍
That may work in pro game but in my elo (gold) if you would give someone random the op he can't really play op or won't give it back. it would be possible if you are a 5 stack but otherwise it's impossible and the Jett OP would be better bc the most important rule in solo q is still never trust a teammate
Since I started playing the game I have always prefered OP'ing over rifling. The thing is, I hate playing Jett. The amount of times I got shit from my teammates or the Jett coming up to me in spawn eventhough he missed every shot possible is honestly astounding. Thank you for this video, hopefully i can start OP'ing more again
liquid is big brain 5000 iq
It's jampii with a j pronunciation not y,or maybe you were embarrassed to say it xD
he gave the op to soulcas because he was 1 hp and couldnt really take fights head-on.
I am a sova main and play Operator breeze and Bind
Oh yes dash in with Jett? So you can’t pull your gun in time and then get gun down by the enemy
sounds like a mobile game ad
I've never thought about changing weapons with my mates. That is freaking smart
I remember Fnatic swapping Ops between Derke and Boaster while attacking the last time they played, Its been a while so I dont think people remember. Derke would take the aggressive positions looking for picks but when it came to entrying, he would pick up a vandal
u know what would be great? a guide on how to kill counter strafers….
