Stack stuff and use multiple sorters.
You can stack the research labs
So what you're saying is that you can stack the buildings? Thanks to the one person who commented that and the others simply liking that comment! lol
Nice!
Doubling the distance a sorter has to cross will half its throughput. Sorters also require power while splitters don't.
the blue cubes remind me of energon cubes in original transformers
One solution to the input problem would be to create a small belt line on the outside of the bus and have more than 1 sorter feed that line. Great Vid Quill! 😁
A comment for the algorithm.
make storage box for stone miner, it just sitting there
Are there alien biters in this?
you can use sorters for babys first main-bus, with 1 field between lanes to branch of by going +1 in elevation.
If you want it scalable, which is currently a pain since you have to delete everything and build it anew to upgrade, use splitters, but those need LOTS of space.
Also: You can stack stuff, like the Labs and building at the poles looks awesome ! ;P
Am a main buss kind of guy in factorio. But in DSP I bring the raw resources. Since they are everywhere
Loving this please play more. You can stack labs and stuff
fun
NIMBY Rails…Tomorrow!!!!
you can stack research buildings and storage buildings
“YouTube is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits.”
some tips: stacking buildings makes them have automatically higher capacity/production rate. if a sorter doesnt have the ideal room to place items, just extend conveyor by 1 or to 2 and add more sorters. same goes for input. a different way of crossing conveyors is to place a conveyor on the other side and use sorters to lift them up and over. i recommend using a storage building as a buffer for everything because eventually, some stuff will get full and there will come a point where you will need stacks of them just laying around.
you can stack the research buildings. you're gonna need to get a lot of oil and refineries going
If you don't make an industrial complex, that wraps around an entire planet, what's the point?
@Quill18 Do you realise you can stack buildings? You were talking about space confinement, but if you stack the buildings you can double the production / research facility without needing more space, though I think you would need to stack the belts as well.
I was hoping until the end that you would notice the fact that some buildings stack vertically. It took me some time to catch on as well. Really enjoying the series so far!
One of the things I love about this game is that everything is one a sphere, so spherical geometry becomes a thing: the grid isn't a perfect grid, sometimes there's a little break.
The labs work BOTH as the cube producer and the consumer. You can toggle which mode they operate in.
lmao, the voice actor doesn't know how to pronounce silicon and keeps saying silicone
I think you need to start putting away those Factorio habits. Belts can be built in height, avoid long sorter lengths, stack storage and labs etc.
I would have thought we were in a mech, rather then in a suit or being a robot.
Thumbs down on the episode because you plan on letting the game run out-of-camera…..never do that !!!
I know you get this a lot, but…
I definitely need to buy this, now. Thanks!
sounds like stelaris music and feeling.. and a lot of the recipies look a lot like factorio. Not sure how I feel on the 'cartoony' look. But definitely an interesting game!
Hi Quill.
dont know if you actually see this, but you can actually stack your science labs, to save space on the ground. 🙂
I had forgotten how reliant quill is on twitch chat
A tip with miners, if you hold shift while you're placing them, you have better control of where it aims, rather than just snapping to the four basic directions.
In factorio 1.1 you can click on inserter and get what it's holding (also ctrl-click on inserters)
Quill, you should consider two things: 1) you can stack labs (as several people have pointed out) but more importantly
2) you should use storage systems rather than just busing on conveyer belts. The blue cubes in particular could benefit from a blue cube storage
it's gonna blow his mind when he figures out he can stack the labs
"I'm gonna set up stone mining"
Me staring intently at his totally starved out iron bus
sweet game
you will cover half a planet by endgame(if you build small scale industry)
The music really reminds me of "How It's Made", which is dangerous. I love that show, but man,the music is better than Ambien for me.
Holy crap; I've been playing this for days, and I only just realized that you can actually pick things up off of the belts! Thank you Quill!
