Did you know there are homebrew versions (on cartrdige) of Metroid that include save states and a navigation map? you should definitely try that one, is not the original experience, but is 99% close to it but more comfortable to play and far better experience I might say thanks to the added features (only those two).
I'm glad your move went smooth. Just wanted to tell you that i'm playing Hollow Knight currently. Now i'm in the Mantis Lords boss fight. So far i died 15 times. And counting.
The BEST video game lIOST channels on Youtube are Rabbitluigi and Larry Bundy Junior. fACT.
What about get a big green screen, then you can film literally anywhere in the world using any background.
Nice background music with your video . I really like it .
Thank you for the content, keep on producing Pam. I appreciate YouTube content from what looks to be real and down to earth producers sharing their interests and passions 🙂👍
Love the shirt. Still one of my favorite games and I'm playing through the OpenXCOM mod right now 🙂
i would love to play hollow knight, pity I only own a super nintendo…. Could you make a port for the super nintento and send me the rom by email? 😛 I have a flash drive 😀 thanks. Nice video, keep the channel up
The hard wood floor is so awesome.
Place looks great.
Congrats
Your eye makeup looks super nice in this vid
Since moving myself, I just recently bought a new coffee table and laptop
It would be great if you took submissions from unknown indie devs and do a review if you like the game
That t-shirt is out of this world!
You know a game is really good, if you wish to replay it regardless of length.
With this save corruption news, and Cyberpunk 2077, I am very concerned of future games.
Thank you so much for the shout-out, Pam! That is so awesome of you; you actually helped me pass 4,000 subs finally so I hugely appreciate it!! Glad things are going well for you; moving can be a real pain. I'm dying to play Immortals Fenyx Rising; I've almost bought like 3 times now but I'm trying to hold off from spending too much atm. Hopefully they'll fix that save bug.
congrats for your new home
Bummer about the retron incompatibility. What kind of hookups do you have on your setup? Could you just plug a composite cable in with an original NES and have a good time or would it be smeary horrible world?
Looks like you have more space for more games. Woo hoo. Congrats on the new place 😊😊😊
Aaargh cute pet babies! 😍
So sorry you had to keep replaying levels in Fenix, it really sucks, I know the feeling from forgetting to save or batteries running out from old games 😥😥
Have a nice day!(❁´◡`❁)
I am buying a place this year and I am so not looking forward to moving.
I haven’t gotten to playing much at all given my time is a tug-o-war between work and the newly started Spring semester at school, but I have been ever-so inching through Cyberpunk 2077 to hopefully wrap it up and begin my content creation journey with a script on it. I did pick up both a Cowboy Bebop OST Vinyl and the Dark Souls 2 OST Vinyl this pst weekend with my girlfriend and hot damn they are gorgeous! Need a new record player like you mentioned, though. Don’t want my Crosley gnawing these up over time with it’s plastic needle. Glad to see the move went super well, sending regards to Lily and Max on this fine Tuesday!
I have respect for people who move and bring their pets along
Hollow knight is not an easy game. She’s a real gamer.
I cant believe you haven't experienced the original Metroid yet. Even as vague and tedious as it can be, it will always be in my top 3 games ever. When you play it, imagine being 8 years old back in the late 80s, with no internet and only Nintendo power, friends and word of mouth being your source for tips. I spent many days drawing maps to that game on graph paper. Gamers now dont know how easy they've got it with everything they have to help them. Still wouldn't trade those memories for anything. Hope you enjoy it
I remember her saying that Xbone won the console war this gen. I don't care, but by what metrics would she use for that opinion?
Quick glance at my PS4 collection exclusives…Spiderman, God of War, Gravity Rush, Bloodborne, Ratchet and Clank, Crash 1 2 3 and 4, and even more that I don't like like Nier and Horizon…what did Xbone have? A crappy halo and another Gears?
hands down ps4 won the gen and even the hardware war. What metric can you possibly use to prefer the Xbox? And there's a gamepass on ps4 too, forgot what its called.
I had no trouble playing Ultimate Stuntman on a PC with an emulator, if you want to go that route (albeit a quasi-legal route). Retron 5 is also an emulator, but it's legal because you use the actual ROMs (cartridges). So either your Retron 5 doesn't have the right BIOS, or your cartridge is damaged. (I didn't know gold packaging = sucky game.)
A huge fan-mod for Fallout New Vegas called Frontier came out last month, but was taken down shortly afterwards due to, get this, fetishistic sex slave content. The whole thing made headlines. I downloaded it just before it was removed, and am playing it. It is praised for its technical innovations, such as the ability to ride vehicles. And the map is very big, giving you a definite open-world feel that most fan mods don't have. Hope they fix it soon and re-upload. The sex slave bit is only available if you ally with the Legionnaires (the evil faction). But you can't ally with them unless you also allied with them in the main NV game, which I didn't. Slavery was depicted in past Bethesda games like FO3 and NV, but the difference here is that the writing was done in a tasteless, exploitative way.
Best of luck if you decide to do Godhome. About half my total playtime in Hollow Knight was spent there practising the bosses or attempting the pantheons.
Competing the final pantheon is one of the hardest things I've ever done in a video game. A single 40 minute attempt can be ended in about 20 seconds if you make even a few mistakes on the later bosses.
My biggest pick up was the second Covid-19 vaccine shot, which made me pretty sick as my body adjusted to it, but I'm glad to be safer working in healthcare facilities. I got the Aleste Collection for Switch and it's my favorite stg release in years (many of the things I love about Gun Nac are present in these awesome Aleste games). The best video I've seen recently is by Natives React AKA PatrickisaNavajo where they cover memes and posts related to the fur and horns guy from the attempted coup in DC. I almost cried I laughed so hard at some of the stuff they shared. Their Bernie wearing mittens episode is heartwarming.
Oh, I won my first tournament in Rocket League. That was fun. Also started Cyber Shadow and like it.
I'm glad your move went well.
Hey, an AVerMedia! Thats my console recorder 'o choice. I thought everyone used those Elgatos things heh.
Love Little Acre, got that a year ago or so when it was a PSN freebie. Was drawn to it for the cartoon animation which gave me LucasArts vibes.
I'm happy a lot of Limited Run Games pre-orders have finally been arriving: Streets of Rage 4 (mmmmm retro Sega Genny box), Shadowgate, Blaster Master Zero 1 & 2, Shantae and the Seven Sirens and Metal Slug Anthology.
That's nice that you got some housewarming gifts! That ring light is making a big difference, imo. I've started Darkest Dungeon, and the grind is real. Still haven't got to a boss fight, but I've lost a bunch of people already. Liking the Vestal and Houndmaster so far, not totally sold on other classes yet. How did you play it? I'm just doing one or two quests per session, which seems to work best to keep my sanity under control. Going to start Ori and the Blind Forest this week!
Cool shirt. What records did you order? I have never played a Metroid game in my life.
I hate moving. It’s awful and stupid
Had to do a double take when you were showing the video clip at 2:23
The shelves in your background that in the video match up almost too well…
とても、参考になります ありがとうございます😊👍
Awesome video Pam, seeing you makes my heart bright an shiny
I started on Immortals also it kept crashing for me on quick resume very annoying
If you wanted to show more of your dog and cat I would not be opposed.
I’ve just received the Punisher on NES. I have so good memories from my childhood regarding this game.
Whenever my friend's parents left their house, one of their cats would always continuously meow because he thought they abandoned him — silly feline. That Immortals issue sounds nasty — I sincerely hope you can get around it one way or another. Have you tried the Nintendo Switch Online subscription? That's how I tried Metroid and Super Metroid. The nice thing is that there is a seven-day (I think mine actually lasted eight days) free trial, and it's even possible to get another free trial even after using the first one, so that might be a potentially good way to play some more NES and SNES 😉
I played through Metroid recently myself and I really wanted to finish it without looking up guides but I just got too stuck and too frustrated for too long and ended up looking up a couple of things online to get through the game. I will impart some words of advice to you and I'll try to leave enough space below so that you don't have to see the following comments if you don't want to, but I don't think they are really that much of spoilers so much as just some friendly advice.

(1) This might sound like an incredibly boring thing to do, but you might want to check every damn tile in the game for secret passages. That is, try to blow up every tile that you can with the morph ball bomb and the earlier you start doing this the better. The areas will become expansive enough that you will easily forget where you've check for passages and it will become more tedious to backtrack and do this than to just get into the habit early on. This may be pretty necessary to progress at some point as the game will not give you any clues as to where you should be going or how to find a secret passage to get there, so you may be stuck for hours or days (like I was) running back and forth through every location until you give up and look up a guide.
.
(2) The final boss will probably make you cry. I have no idea how many times I had to fight this bastard of a boss thinking there must have been some special trick to not taking damage from every direction and dying before even getting close to dealing some damage. I was convinced that I must have been missing something, some kind of special strategy or alternate approach, so I broke down and looked up another guide just to find out that the special trick that I was missing was just being way better at the game with cat-like reflexes and dying over and over again for hours and hours. I did eventually beat the game but boy was that last battle frustrating. Oh, and to make matters worse, there is a really annoying platforming section leading up to the boss so you'll have to get that down if you want to have any health left over and any chance of finishing the game.
.
Other than those two things, I really enjoyed the game and didn't need any other guides or anything for it. Make no mistake, this is true NES level difficulty, but as a huge fan of the metroidvania genre since pretty far back (had Metroid II on the old original Gameboy and other metroidvanias pretty early on), I was determined to give this one the old college try. I know you love your metroidvanias as well so I think that, like me, you will enjoy playing the game even if you don't end up finishing it and that you will probably find it interesting to see how the genre kind of started, despite what flaws this original installment did have. Game on!
UFO rules a top 20 game of all time for me.
I started metroid zero mission today on wii u. Great remake of the original game. First time I turned on my wii u in over two years apparently….
Switch needs a virtual console!
So glad for you that the move went smoothly, hopefully the fur babies will get used to the new environment very quickly so they resume their relaxing naps. I had the same feeling after playing Donut County as you, quite underwhelming and even a bit disappointing after reading so many positive reviews.
Super Metroid is definitely better, but Metroid is amazing. I've been playing Life is Strange lately
I've been playing Death Stranding, Ys VIII, and Judgment before that. I'm glad to hear Judgment will be coming to Xbox Series S/X. I recommend trying it if you get the chance; has some light detective game elements to it, for what it's worth.
I'm a simple man, I see original UFO/X-Com Enemy Unknown and Like.
That's a great gift!
I'm glad the moving wasn't stressful, those things are a pain normally, specially with a collection of something.
