Join us for the Southside to learn more about this cocktail!
The Southside cocktail is a simple variant of the gin sour. Two widely accepted origin stories seem to put it as being born either in the South Side district of Chicago: the go-to cocktail of its most notable gangster, Al Capone, or the more believable version that claims it was created at the Southside Sportsmen’s Club on Long Island. Either way, this Prohibition-era sour is delicious on a warm day, as the sweet/sour flavor is cooled off even further with the addition of mint. This drink is often made with the addition of soda water, and called a South Side Fizz, or South Side Ricky.
