In Engitopia Part 4, I create a new area and briefly discuss real life highway junction design as I build a grade separated junction to connect my new area to the main highway in Cities Skylines. We finally sort our bin problems thanks to some very impressive bin lorries. Once again the new mods I have installed in Cities Skylines cause me some troubles, but I overcome them to create an awesome new area on a terraformed slope. For the next episode I will have finally unlocked another grid square and have massive plans for some realistic builds in Cities Skylines! Biffa may even proud!
As always, if you enjoy the video please give it a LIKE and subscribe to the Real Civil Engineer channel and enable notifications so you can be the first to know when I post future videos! Thanks!!

About Cities Skylines:
Cities: Skylines is a modern take on the classic city simulation. The game introduces new game play elements to realize the thrill and hardships of creating and maintaining a real city whilst expanding on some well-established tropes of the city building experience. From the makers of the Cities in Motion franchise, the game boasts a fully realized transport system. It also includes the ability to mod the game to suit your play style as a fine counter balance to the layered and challenging simulation. You’re only limited by your imagination, so take control and reach for the sky!

(49) Big Town! Bumpy roads and beautiful scenery. Have a great day and take care.
You can use page up and page down with move-it to adjust the height of nodes.
Move It Mod has a slope feature to adjust things from lumpy to not lumpy. You can also use it to match heights and make things flat. In addition I find that having the Node Controller helps to adjust nodes from being flat to sloped, and you can adjust the actual degree of the slope. Those two mods together are really powerful.
Challenge… Make the Verdansk City from call of duty, except like actually functionable
Can you do a diverging diamond intersection?
Still waiting for the Biffa Colab where he can talk you through the mods to help you get rid of the lumpy bits.
Worried about roads being too steep, no grid-like blocks, building residential instead of drilling for oil, thought towards appearance. I’m starting to think a “Civil Engineer” isn’t the same thing here in the US.
What is this 1:48
it’s an Abomination
Curious to see how you’ll expand, keep the city skylines coming mate 👍🏼
Node Controller mod among other features, allows two nice changes:
1. Toggle flat/sloped junction (i.e. a sloped road will remain sloped and won't try to flat level a junction creating a wobbly staircase).
2. Increase radius of a junction, making it take more space for more smooth turns. What it does on motorway exits – they look nicer with bigger junction radius.
I never imagined to click instantly on a video titled like this… 🙂
I don’t play any of these games
I enjoy the content though
Really hope this series goes so long he builds the whole map. I would be entertained the whole way
You can level the bridge out with Moveit, the same way you're moving your roads left and right.
If you have a crossroads you can use the route viewer in the side bar on the left to change them from traffic lights to stop signs! It really helps when you have ring roads and the likes.
With move it you can click on a node and use page up and down to move it up/ down
i really enjoy this series man, it gives me such a calm vibe
Alternative junctions are problem solvers, issue with that being that. In Cities Skylines when you have gridlock, it's automatically 24/7 gridlock. You can't afford to build a city with the kind of problem that an alternative junction would solve. Makes it much more natural to use broader topographical, and organizational solutions instead.
I ordred merch more than a month ago… Still haven't received 🙁
Would love to see you do a diverging diamond interchange on here.
DDI > all others
you should upgrade the junction roads to 4 lane or 6 lane roads to handle more traffic
You sound like Tom Stanton
“I hate that bridge, its so lumpy”
I’ll let you know theres an elevated motorway section in indonesia that was designed to be lumpy.
So that people wouldn’t speed around on it.
It makes sense at first, until you try it yourself in a car.
it buggers me that he puts so much thought in his city and yet has not a single pedestrian walking shortcut in his city
Way better series than Poly Bridge. Poly Bridge is just a fun little activity. This is a whole project.
Commented on another vid, but I think you'd get a kick out of the street view in Google of Lago Vista, TX, US.
Yeah bro too good
I love how your cities are built to the land, it makes things look so much more realistic
Lower the land into the water to create the outline of a penis, then put a dock on it.
I’m so excited for the next episode!!!
Love the content!
Do you know the content creator Biffa (Biffa plays Indie Games)? That is also someone i watch and he is a master of Ciies Skylines. Maybe you can watch his video's about TEAport .. or even better, make a video together! You two are so much alike haha.
