Friday Night Funkin’ is a Newgrounds rhythm game made in HaxeFlixel originally created for Ludum Dare 47. Programmed by ninjamuffin99 with a soundtrack produced by Kawai Sprite and artwork created by PhantomArcade and evilsk8r, the game can be played on Newgrounds or played/downloaded for free on Itch.io.

The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father Daddy Dearest doesn’t approve of him. It’s up to Boyfriend to rap battle his way through him and anyone else that stands in his way so that he can finally get freaky! Think you got what it takes?

Friday Night Funkin’ is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content. A full version of the game is currently in development, having been successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. Check the changelog here for information on the latest updates. The game is also open source to allow users to mod or simply look through its assets. Download the game files here.

  5. Definitely not as good as your newer music but dang it still slaps. I kinda like the empty feeling of this song it feels like 80s slasher music and I love that. The only gripe I have have is that it feels way too long for the kinda dark instrumental that doesn't change much I feel like ending it at like 3:55 would've been good tbh. The ending would've gone perfectly. I don't hate longer songs but when the instrumental does not change much it feels overdone imo.

    Still a 7 / 10 song for me not bad but could be better still slaps tho for an old song. Another positive is that it doesn't feel like a four minute song due to the fast bpm.

  10. (Spoiler if you haven’t played the song)The song is a bit difficult to play but the the jump scare is awesome tho, and how the pumpkin rabbit is able to savagely kill a bunch of kids even poor old tam tam(Tammy)

  16. Funfact: this song has voice lines from a Walten files episode called “The Mysterious House”
    Spoilers warning: Tammy fox and duckie were going trick or treat they couldn’t find any houses a few minutes later they went to a bus stop duckie wanted to go home tammy fox wanted to go to one more house
    Tammy found the Mysterious house and then they knock on the door they ask if there’s any candy
    The girl says “yes come in side we have plenty”
    Then that’s where they see the disturbing rabbit (pumpkin rabbit)
    They ask if Tammy and duckie wanted to sleep over they said they need to go home
    Pumpkin rabbit says “oh I have a great idea why don’t you sleep over” but they said they need to go home
    Pumpkin rabbit says “oh come on it’s only one N I G H T”
    (More then one night)
    (Oh and oh they when they went to the mysterious house they saw a missing poster)
    Then duckie wakes up from a clock then wanders around
    Tammy looks for him/her
    Tammy found duckie unalived and then the voice lines come with pumpkin rabbit murdering Tammy THE END

  23. hey I've been thinking about this analog horror series called The Smile Files and wondered; there needs to be an FNF song for that! will Chase make one soon? So I thought of this song idea of Whitty in a video call with a teen woman that sneezes and coughs out the pollen of the Smile Shroom(what I call the fungus that mentally and physically morphs the victims in the Smile Files). I hope you like the concept for your upcoming songs!
