I love your videos but this one seems really implausible. As soon as you started talking about it being training I couldn't stop thinking "Why would anyone make training deadly? It's so counterproductive" have I misunderstood or missed something about that part that makes it possible? I still enjoyed the video as much as ever but I just can't see how it would work as training for anything. The other parts of the theory were good though.

The game is kinda dumb though, it should be reversed, the crew tries to wreck the ship to stop this thing from getting to earth
While I adore this dark horror view on this game but I also like the adorable idea that the beans are actually just playing a game themselves and being a ghost for a bit is perfectly normal for their species as they heal their bodies.
Kinda makes me think about The Thing (1982) which is spoiler-alert about a group of people being infiltrated by a shapeshifting alien that slowly kills them one by one while pretending to be one of them. In fact, the alien in Among Us sounds exactly like the alien in The Thing (mouth in torso, tongue that can pierce people, etc.)
