  1. I agree with Montana on this. Idc what you are or have done I believe in second chances and think everyone deserves one. Even Catra. And ik that's not entirely what Montana is saying in this but it is similar.

  2. When it comes to Catra its hard to like explain but to me she’s both. She’s a victim but also now a villain. She had a messed up childhood and environment. These 2 things did not help her or teach her how to deal with emotions or people. But these things don’t justify or excuses the things she did. So yeah did her environment push her to incline more on bad behaviors? Yes totally. Does that mean that’s okay? No. Of course not. Just like it was mentioned there are people who had it rough but came out strong and chose to live a balanced and positive life. And there is also people who had everything giving to them but choose to be bad in the end.

  3. 3:45 "Their technological capabilities have increased since Entrapta returned to them." That moment when you realize that – considering Entrapta didn't ACTUALLY return to the rebellion & is instead currently on Beast Island atm – a statement like that just REALLY means that our Best Boi Bo's Tech Skills have improved so damn much that even Hordak himself couldn't tell the difference & fully believed the improvement was Entrapta's genius at work 🥺🥺 I'm just so proud of our Boi 🥲🥰💗

  4. Listen I’m sorry to disagree with buddy but 1 Scorpia is never and will never be a Iroh or Catra be Zuko. The reason is that yeah Zuko had it rough there is no doubt about that BUT he still had an adult that loved him and took care of him in his lowest point and tried to guide him to be better bc they had faith that they would be better. CATRA ON THE OTHER HAND NEVER HAD AN ADULT LOOK AT HER AS ANYTHING MORE THEN A NUISANCE OR GUIDE HER OR LOVE HER OR BELIEVE IN HER. And let’s be real Adora had a supportive but manipulative adult in her life. Everything she did was right but at the same time a lot was asked of her at the same time. SW said “Adora you have a bright future leading the Horde but you still need to be better bc you are not perfect but I will guide you and make you perfect.” Even though it sounds kinda supportive to a child that doesn’t know better this is still abuse but Catra didn’t even have that. Remember that in the remembrance episode SW threatened to kill her and called her a nuisance that the only reason she is alive is bc Adora liked her. Zuko on the other hand had Iroh tell him that he was great and that he loved him and he didn’t need the approval of anyone because he is already everything he needed to be.

Besides Scorpia is the same age you just can’t compare a old person that has been kinda evil or has done evil things but has realized the error of his ways and is now a more confident person and has learned from his mistakes to a woman that lets herself be treated badly because they don’t have any self confidence in themselves and value. It just is not fair comparison at all.

Another point I want to bring up is that Catra didn’t want to destroy the world. She pulled the leaver bc she wanted to get back at Adora and Sw for abandoning her and treating her bad. Also before she did that you have to take into account that SW had just abused her thanks to Glimmers powers. She found out that SW got a free pass or at least SW took advantage and tricked her into thinking she was a trusted part of the alliance and didn’t get punished for everything she did. Can you imagine seeing someone that abused you working for the police and not get punished at all bc they are helping the police? You would feel even more betrayed by life. In any case I think she was so low at that point that she was actually acting kinda suicidal. She was willing to die and in fact she kinda jumped thinking she was going to die and didn’t accept Adora’s helping hand when the portal opened near her. Zuko on the other hand was supportive of conquering the world in a way, because he was part of the Fire nation. The only reason he spook up in the meeting that resulted in him getting burned was because Fire Nation Soldiers would get hurt but not because it was wrong to attack other nations. It wasn’t until he lost his uncle and realized that his ancestor was the avatar that he started to have doubts and want to change his ways. And then the writer build on that and made him likable and he started to say that what was happening to others wasn’t fair. Catra never had a chance to think about her mistakes until she sleeps because she is 2nd in command and in the middle of a war. The dreams are a way to show that she unconsciously she doesn’t like her decisions but remember what Adora said before in the Horde you can’t show weakness, so her guilt is a weakness to her and she is reacting by doubling down on what she believes is her only opinion which is to play the part of the villain that everyone judged her to be since she was a child

  5. Adora is probably the gayest character of cartoons that I ever seen! She so into buff girls 😂… Catra is not a vilan, she a victim of a abuse from her entire life. Is the cycle of abuse: you are a victim that make victims. She doesn't wanted just destroy the planet she wants to destroy herself. She have the conviction that what she did was bad and that crossed a line where even Adora (in her mind) doesn't cares about her anymore, cause in her mid she don't deserve it, she doesn't matter anymore (you guys will notice that soon).

  6. could you guys possibly watch the anime movie 'a silent voice'. i think your views on it would be a good watch because of how you normally get a little deep into certain topics hahaha. doubt you'll see this but thanks if you watch it 🙂

  7. Catra is a villain for sure. Just because we understand why she does what she does she is still a villain. 99% of villains could have the same things said about them and its just good writing that we understand her so well. Everyone is the hero of thier own story but when you take a step back and look at them from the outside you see how they impact other people's stories. Doesn't mean there can't be a redemption arc though.

  8. The fact that you think Catra somehow does “worse” than Zuko shows your bias. Zuko was going to bring Aang to his father, Ozai, ATLAS version of Horde Prime, which was going to aid him in planetary destruction. So yes Zuko DOES have planetary destruction on his plate.

  9. My super dark theory of the day is that the real Flutterina was in the first half of the episode and Double Trouble and the Horde 100% killed her off, so that she could never reveal DT to the rebellion. :/

  10. I think Catra was totally justified in how harsh she was when telling Scorpia to leave her alone. She's made her boundaries clear so many times and Scorpia just relentlessly oversteps and betrays Catra's consent every time. She may be a villain right now, but that doesn't mean she isn't allowed to feel uncomfortable when that kind of pressure is put on her boundaries.

  11. Zuko had an Iroh and Catra doesn't. Scorpia is a friend, but she is not wise in the way Iroh is. Scorpia wants to help Catra, but doesn't know how and she is Catra's subordinate. Iroh was Zuko's esteemed uncle who also taught and raised Zuko quite a bit. Zuko was already listening to Iroh from the beginning even if he wasn't always doing what he was telling him to do. Catra doesn't have someone like that and she searches for that parental figure in all the wrong places. If Zuko didn't have Iroh, he would have gone to way worse places than he had.

  12. I love how you guys get so hot n bothered by a lot of characters you've seen. Especially in legend of korra and i know your heads would explode if you ever watch Fairy tail there is so much sexiness in that show.

  13. 9:52 & 20:10 I HATE THAT WE DON'T HAVE AN ACTUAL FLUTTERINA IN THIS SHOW 😭 She's just some character that Double Trouble made up! I mean she was there in the 80s (although she was just a woman named Small One that was made into Flutterina after nearly dying and being changed by Light Hope to get her butterfly wings, but still!)

20:40 well actually nobody really said anything about Flutterina. She introduced herself at the party and I supposed the townspeople just assumed she was always there

  14. Personally I feel like it’s somewhat of a balance of it being a persons upbringing and also it being someone’s choices.

For example take into an account this one Character from Agents of Shield whom does these awful and horrible things. He blames so many things outside of himself, his family, his past, people who manipulated him. But when away from those situations he still blamed those things for making him evil and for the current bad choices he is making. And the point is that he admits, clear as day, that he knows what he is doing is wrong. But instead of stopping or trying to mend things properly he does worse things and then continues to blame those choices on his past, when in fact he is fully aware of the choices he, himself, is taking, and their negative effects. This is all also outside of guilt except for sadness towards the things he, himself, has lost.

You can understand where he is coming from, and that his past was difficult and is still affecting him but once someone admits they are fully aware of the negative consequences of their actions and still chooses to make them free of guilt. Well then that is a line that has been crossed that I don’t think you really can get back.

Here of course with Catra we see with the dream that she clearly knows what she did is wrong… but the main difference is that she DOES feel guilt. Guilt that she is trying to avoid. That does not take the burden of her choices or her responsibility for them off her. However it does go to show that she still does care somewhat and those choices she regrets. That currently there is still a glimmer of hope. Still an ability to look at her actions within the moment, know that they are wrong and act against it, if she chooses too. Yes she is currently pushed by a lot of aspects of her past, yes that is true, and also just as true Kenny is right she does have her life lines. Originally in Adora (which we understand why that didn’t work out) and now in Scorpia. Wether Catra wants to see it or not. They are indeed a choice she can make even if small.

Catra is at the point of seeing her actions are bad within the moment and still choosing to make them despite her knowledge of them being bad. However she is still feeling guilt even if she is hiding it. This is her make or break point. How she handles her guilt wether she manages to get rid of it or if she manages to process it healthily and I guess these guys will have to see.

But currently yes, she is causing harm to others and people.
    Yes she is a villain.

But at this point for me it’s not set in stone, things can still change, for better or for worse. This is the moment where it really finally does all rely on her. No guilt or guilt? This is finally the point where we get to see the choice is finally hers.

  15. 26:19 This entire philosophical debate is fantastic. I mean people have debated for ages about what is truly evil and how much does impact matter and how much does causes matter, etc. etc. And it seems we may never arrive at an answer as a society (individuals often have their own answers though, as do I). It's also interesting to compare this to Montana and Kenny's reactions to characters in Attack on Titan, and the enormous difference that the availability of information and perspective makes on our judgement on morality :3

  16. Catra didn't want to destroy the planet, she just wanted Adora to suffer. And yeah that's a bad reason to do something but she never wanted to destroy everything.
Also Scorpia is absoulutly not an Iroh, both relationships are so different, like Iroh was a mentor and family (they had a strong bond all of their lifes), Catra met Scorpia two days ago and she's just a good friend and a subordinate. Their relationships are so different.

  17. I definitely consider catra a villain at this point….but also a victim. I don't see why the two have to be exclusive, I thought the entire tragic reality around the "cycle of abuse" was that victims paradoxically can become abusers. Maybe there's a hesitance to call Catra a villain because we WANT her to be redeemed, but believe a "villain" is someone beyond redemption?

  18. completely on montana's side re "is scorpia an iroh". while scorpia is a supportive figure in catra's life, she is very naive and still relatively early on her path of self growth. she is in no way in a place to be able to guide or teach catra

  19. E l l o- I just wanna say that when Scorpia mentions Adora when shes sitting in the spot
A D O R A and Catra used to sit together- Scorpia was sitting where Adora used to be. Sparking Catra’s hatred more making her think Scorpia is trying to replace Adora possibly and maybe trying to her new Adora- And she doesn’t want that because one Adora will always be her Adora and no one can replace her and TWO she also mentioned Entrapta. The person who sided with Adora the last second making Catra see more and more of, Oh Adora right and Adora’s ALWAYS RIGHT. Just like Shadow Weaver wants it to be like! Making so much hatred over and over again till she’s pushed to say “ Stop hovering around me! Just back off! WERE NOT FRIENDS! “. Stop hovering around me= Reminder of how Adora and Catra used to always hang around eachother be gay bestfriends. “ Just back off! “= I cant really touch my finger on it but I think it means again how in Catra’s eyes Scorpia is trying to replace Adora and finally.. “ WERE NOT FRIENDS! “ = Catra being tired of friends, Everyone siding with Adora, mentioning things she doesn’t like and her being annoyed of how Scorpia can never get away or stop trying to be the next Adora and her being tired of Scorpia trying to in her eyes replace A D O R A. ( side note: just spiraled off into a conspiracy and realized how many times I put Adora- : D ) Anyways that sums up why Catra was/is so mean to Scorpia for the most part in my eyes.

  21. As someone who has completed the show, I'm letting you know right now, Catra's going to get a lot worse. Also, for future references, Catra and Glimmer are really portrayed as two sides to the same coin, and without spoiling it, it's not a good thing and causes many bad things to happen. When I first watched it, I was shocked that I was angry at Glimmer because she wasn't using common sense. Also, Shadow Weaver plays a considerable part into how Glimmer begins to act. Also, episode 6, a scene in 8, 9 (where we learn more about Mara), 12, and 13 will probably hurt your feelings, because they really hurt my feelings. Just a quick heads up. Buckle up, because this season is a wild ride. And next season will most definitely hurt your feelings. It's still my favorite though, for reasons I cannot reveal because then I'd be spoiling it.
