Apex Legends is a battle royal game in which up to 20 three-man squads land on an island before searching for weapons and supplies to then attempt to defeat all other players in combat. The final team alive wins the round. The game is set in the same sci-fi universe as Respawn Entertainment’s Titanfall franchise.[1]

Unlike other prominent battle-royal games, Apex Legends is also similar to “hero shooters”, in that it allows the player to choose from a selection of player characters before each round, each with a unique set of skills. The characters are known as “legends” within the game.[2]

The game focuses heavily on teamwork and includes a much praised system of nonverbal communication, known as “Pinging”, which allows players to use their game controller in order to communicate to their team things like directions, weapon locations, enemies and suggested strategies.[3]

Using the “Ping” command will create an icon (a so-called Ping) to appear at the location where the player is looking which is accompanied by an appropriate voice line from the player’s in-game character. The Ping will be visible to the player as well as their teammates for a short duration. The Ping icon defaults to a “Go” command, which suggests to the squad an area to explore. However, if the player is looking at something specific (such as a weapon or a piece of equipment) then the Ping icon will change contextually to highlight the presence and location of that object.[4]

The Ping command system also has more advanced functionalities, such as tapping the Ping command twice in quick succession to highlight enemies, holding down the Ping command to bring up more detailed options, Pinging when you need ammunition or equipment, context-based Pings which are unique to characters within the game, and being able to respond to or cancel prior Pings.[4]

Players who become knocked down in the course of a game can be revived by their teammates. Should a player be killed completely, they can still be resurrected if their team members collect a banner, which appears at the place where they died, and bring it to one of several beacons on the island.[2]

The gameplay of Apex Legends is considered to be very fast-paced and action-packed, as intense firefights will break out frequently between rival teams and with the game allowing players a very high level of movement speed and freedom.[5]

Apex Legends is a free-to-play game meaning that there is no initial purchase required in order to play.[1] The game instead includes a system of microtransactions and loot boxes which allow the player to spend both real money and in-game currency on cosmetic items, such as outfits for the game’s “legends” and new colors for weapons.[6]

The developers of Apex Legends have outlined their roadmap for the game’s first year of additional content, with a new game season planned for every three months. Each new season is intended to bring with it the release of a new playable character, new weapons and purchasable cosmetic items.[7 #APEX #apexlegends #apexSeason7 #apexloba #ApexLore #Apexship #ApexTheory #apexQuest #APEXLEGEND

  1. But I agree this is below expectations I was expecting something spectacular for the end to there rivalry, and that dirty trick of switching stuff in the winter skin packs uhhh EA, if this game was run by only respawn you know it would be better

  2. I have some points to make in defense of this story:

Loba decided to get the code and throw it in a phase runner instead of just pretending not to know where it is, because she actively wanted to make Revenant suffer, she even said so herself. (there is also a possibility she's bluffing about all this, but that's unlikely)

Revenant lost the fight on purpose, because if he kills her, he loses his best chance of getting the code

Revenant settled to "become her shadow" for a couple reasons: since he can't kill her, he will settle with stalking her, therefore harass and torture her in any way he can find in an effort to pressure her into getting the source code back. It's not really out of character, because Revenant has been killing all the time, but now that he can't he had to come up with something else.

Even the title itself "a fate worse than death" highlights how people have always been rooting for Loba, but now that she refused to solve everyone's problems just to get "more revenge", the sympathy of the audience had shifted to the middle in between of them

Edit: the thing I find stupid is how Rev coughs as he fell to the ground. Like, what? Robots don't get the prompt to cough, it's mechanically nonsensical.

  3. The intire storyline itself is so fuckin dumb written and i know noone despite me of my friends who even understands the Story and thats because apex thinks its a great idea to tell the Story on Twitter…. i mean, maybe 10% of the apex playerbase have seen it… i really like apex but in the end its a br and not a story game and it gets crystal clear if you see this lazy writing solution of just saying "yeah loba go brrrrrrr okay perfect now we got a solution of how to keep rev in the game without killing him"

  4. I personaly didn't want to go with a PVE mod about The sorce code becouse it isn't that interesting for me But it was something that should have happened and i would play it anyways. I really want to see a PVE Who puts you in a server with outher People so it can be 1 battle between all legends and Revenent.

  5. U could say that revenant can’t kill loba just in case he forced it out of her and when it comes to loba getting the code u can say that its a way to control revenant by dangling what he wants in-front of him

  6. I'm not mad about what they did lore wise. It kinda makes sense for Loba to keep Revenant from getting what he wants. (Although they probably could've executed it a bit better.) What I'm disappointed in is that all we got is voicelines and a couple of nice looking art pieces. A full pve mission or even a stories from the outlands would've made it so much better.

Here's hoping we'll get some more appealing content in the new year.

  7. Revenant said "I'm not going to kill you yet" so he would've had that in mind while fighting Loba.

Also if my man's gonna suffer for 100 years why not give the person who done it hell
