Apex Legends pros and players are calling for big changes to a “broken” ranked system after Courage and Nickmercs hit masters and predator.
Courage’s climb to predator in Apex Legends, carried or not, and Nickmercs rapidly hitting masters have led to several Apex pros coming out to state that the ranked system is broken, and it is simply too easy to make it to the highest ranks. But how quickly you can hit masters rank in Apex isn’t the only ranked issue facing the game.
TSM Apex Legends pro ImperialHal wanted 3 major changes in particular. First off, the ability to get demoted out of a rank. Currently, if you rank up, you never have to worry about falling to a lower rank, unless you are in Predator. Secondly, an in-game leaderboard so you can see where you rank, which is important for predator players who are only the top 750 players. And finally, cosmetic rewards for hitting predator to encourage players to keep grinding for that top rank.

WE all been screaming about this for seasons on seasons it is def not easy enough to make masters dude especially solo thats bull shit straight up NICK had a ton of shooter exp that he carried into our game he wasnt just some bot that went to Masters I recently made Masters in arenas but still hard stuck diamond 2 in BR there are only 5% of the community even in diamond how they figure its so easy lmao!!
On a side note i do still agree ranked changes are needed big time especially more kill points or kill points being worth a bit more the current system is harsh and encourages so much camping positioning is important but kills require skill as well

If they don't have the rankings easy to climb low level matches will have smurfs ruining games for too long. If people win then they need to get promoted and out of low levels.

these people just follow the public opinion imo the rank system is fine its mean to entice players to grind for something and if im getting demoted cause of RNG where I land open four crates with nothing but a mozambique now if im playing valorant where everyone does not rely on their luck sure im ok with demotion but in br i dont see it i would not play it, i think ranks its fine these players reach these higher ranks cause they have good aim and play 14 hrs a day its bound to happen
Tap strafing is not an exploit and it’s not hard to have people doing it it’s just a movement shift that only dodges like two bullets only time tap strafing can get annoying is if you like a peacekeeper shot
OMG give me a BREAK. Nickmercs, Tfue, and similar, are ALWAYS playing with a bunch of experienced players. THAT's why they climb so fast. It is a TEAM SPORT in Apex. Also they get the best tips from everyone, and all of them. For a normal player, the ranked system is nowhere near broken. If you solo que, you get partnered with people, that are new to the game, or got boosted up by their smurf friends, or are just not good, or don't know stuff, never played thief and gendarme as a kid irl, or whatever. Partners you just don't know well, you don't know how they wanna play, and that have no microphone, or are just idiots, let's call it. I mean the toxic for no reason ones, only because you play the game differently, and they complain, after being downed, on their mic, but not giving calls before, having a mic. Stuff like that. Didn't even talk about the rediculous aim assist, and the cheaters yet. The game's mechanics also constantly reveal your position. Legal wallhacks. Everybody who reaches high ranks legitly, f ing deserves it. Stop crying, ya goofs, especially when you are the one, exploiting every trick, and only play with good players in the team. Of course it is easy to grind that way, and look better. But not to easy for others, who solo que most of the time. And no matter how much you like this game, maybe consider thinking about, if the game likes you too, because it treats everyone like shit. Even long time preds say, the better you get at this game, the more frustrating it gets. That being said, the ranking system is NOT a problem we have at the moment. And considering , making it harder to rank up, is just a lame try, from people that are desperate for attention, for just knowing more about the game, because playing it longer, but that don't have more talent, than someone decent coming from another game. ' 'Look how good i am, because i know more, about something i started earlier than others. ' ' Whoo whoo ! Skill gap ? – more like a knowledge gap in Apex. Because every trick is easy to do, if you know how. Btw controllers could tap strafe too. So they also have a reason to cry, when it gets taken out. So it has nothing to do with favouring controller or not. Using a mouse, aiming at tap strafing, is also no fun.

It’s not easy that’s why the majority are hard stuck gold or silver. “Pros” are just upset that non apex players are climbing the ranks. I feel like a change to the ranked system would push people away

Solo queue only ranked playlist would be HUGE. Rocket League did this successfully, but it's a matter of having enough players willing to play the solo queue playlist. Solo queue trios in Rocket League was the least played ranked playlist so I can see why Respawn is hesitant to create it.

sounds more like some "skilled" apex players are mad their skills don't translate in other games as well as other players do… we aren't talking about average joes switching games we are talking about some of the TOP ranked players of other games switching and doing well… what the fuck is everyone bitching about stfu and get good.. these guys didn't switch and become top 10 in the predators they barely scratched the rank… making it to pred and consistently holding a pred rank are different.. again sounds like apex players are just butthurt cause they feel their pred rank doesn't mean as much…
Ranked Arenas is broken. I havent been playing long and im on controller but id have to win like 50 or 60 games straight to rank past gold 1 in Arenas. It got to a point where the punishment for a loss at such a low rank was so severe I stopped playing. You could win 3 or 4 games and one loss and all that progress is undone. Were talking about gold 1 here. Unless there aren't any ranks past that which I doubt, that's pretty fuckin stupid.

I quit Apex in season 2 because of all of the cheaters using anti recoil and wall hacks. I came back and played recently and made it to diamond on console and started running into same stuff cheaters.
