Apex Legends Season 6 – Will its run on a RX 460 with 4GB Vram?
Developer: Respawn Entertainment
Publisher: Electronic Arts
How well does just a RX 460 with 4GB Vram run Apex Legends, a Titan fall spin off FPS battle royale game from Respawn Entertainment.
GPU: RX 460 with 4GB Vram
CPU: Ryzen 4300G
RAM: 16GB
There are no presets for this game graphically but I show what settings are selected. These are broad high, medium and low so you can probably get better results visually if you tinker some settings.
0:00 Intro
0:10 Overall Results
0:20 1080p High (46fps average)
04:58 1080p Medium (75fps average)
11:07 1080p Low (95fps average)
1080p High – 4GB Textures
—————————————
On the highest settings with high textures we get a reasonable 46fps with a high of 71fps and a low of 28fps so this is certainly playable it just doesn’t hit that magic 60fps average which should always be a target in a fast face game like Apex Legends.
1080p Medium – 4GB Textures
—————————————
reducing some settings down to medium or off we get a big jump to an average of 75fps with a high of 104 and a low of 43 so we hit the 60fps mark here but unfortunately not locked at 60fps so you will get the odd dip below from time to time.
1080p Low – 4GB Textures
—————————————
With nearly everything off to down to low we get a rather nice boost to 95fps average with a high of 113 and a low of 51. So while the low and the high are about the same as the “medium” settings the average is much higher so this would give a smooth experience overall even on a high refresh rate monitor.
So if you already have a RX 460 or have grabbed one cheap it can certainly play Apex Legends on all settings but if you want 60fps you will need to reduce some of the eye candy features.
