I knew nothing about this series and the game, started watching the 1st episode yesterday was pretty interesting,loved the animation.

A thousand years ago the world of Runeterra ( How the planet is called) almost vanishes due to the "Rune wars" ( Powerful Magic Stones in the wrong hands) which is what Prof. Heimerdinger was referencing. Ever since then, people are wary of anything magic related. Just like "nuclear power" in our reality.

i realized that the scene with "monsters in the water" is a very interesting parallel to what silco (villain) plans to do
"only if pilthover would have known about monsters hiding here, underneath the surface", meaning zaun by that
