Mild spoilers for League of Legends gaming and characters; scroll down if you don't care about them.
This show has a done a great job of showing how Powder slowly becomes her playable character, Jinx: The Loose Cannon. In Act 1, she's an innocent girl with a talent for gadgetry and explosives that just wants to help. In Act 2, she's a very troubled and mentally unstable young woman, but there are still glimpses of the girl she used to be.
At the end of the episode, Powder is more alone than ever: she's found out that Silco has been lying to her for years about her sister; she thinks her sister Vi has betrayed her to the Enforcers; the Firelights just tried to kill her and kidnapped her sister; she can't seek help from the Topside and she can't trust anyone from the lower levels. Now, more than ever, she only has the faintest connections to 'regular' society of any kind.
There's only one left: despite everything, Powder still loves her sister Vi. I believe that Powder is about to go on a one woman rampage against literally anyone who stands between her and her sister, consequences be damned.
But there is still one big question looming over Powder: what is the final tipping point? What happens to turn her eyes pink and irrevocably shatter her mind, leaving only the cheerfully psychotic anarchist Jinx, who has little to no memory of her past?
My guess? In the finale, Powder stays behind in some dangerous situation, in order to save her sister. Maybe a massive bomb surrounded by Shimmer, Silco's final desperate play to bring down Topside. Powder stays to disarm the bomb, forcing the others to leave. She succeeds, but something goes wrong; maybe too many Shimmer fumes, or something I haven't thought of yet. Powder dies, leaving only Jinx behind.
It would a tragic and fitting 'ending:' Powder sacrifices what's left of her mind, all to finally help her sister…but Jinx will never remember doing so, or why. Yet some part of Powder lives on, deep in Jinx's mind, pushing her towards getting Vi and Caitlyn to chase after her. The last, echoing scream for help from a lost, sad little girl, who only ever wanted to help and be with her sister.
Now, watch me be completely wrong. 😉 But whatever the case may be, I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out. This series has been very good thus far.
This probably be the beginning of LOL cinematic universe!! 😁
It is ekko base on the orange scarf on his neck
It's such an awesome show. I even downloaded the soundtrack because I love it. Such great story telling. And yes, the animation looks fantastic.
Everyone that seems to be shipping Caitlyn and Vi better do so now while you can cause next act she's gonna hate Caitlyn because she was the reason Jinx started losing it right as they were starting to bond again. Vi literally spent 10 years in prison just wanting to get out and find/save Jinx only for it to almost happen but get disrupted. Also Caitlyn is going to want to arrest Jinx for taking out all the enforcers so Vi and Caitlyn isn't exactly going to work going forward.
I think the glasses guy is twitch.
Yes jinx has skitzo… It is why she sees and talks to people that aren't there
Thank you, I've been saying the same thing. I really think that Echo is the leader or at least a part of the Firelights. I love this Anime, it's just so f**king good in every way. I can't wait for the other episodes to drop😊
If you go back to the episode where Ekko is introduced in Benzo’s shop, his spyglass is built into the mask the lead Firelight wears on the shelf. Kinda cements it.
Jinx getting her leg cut is what's gonna make the difference in making her understand that her reunion with Vi was real.
This is the most emotional and beautiful series Ive ever seen.
You know what I just realized the two boys in episode 1 they looks a lot like the junkrat and roadhog from OverWatch
its not just Vi that got captured, Caitlyn did too, she got knocked tf out remember
i’ve been a Caitlyn and Vi shipper for years and this makes me happy. the game been giving hints that they’re you know 😉
It’s so heavy to see how they show jinxes schizophrenia.
Just can't stop crying watching this ep… No matter for Vi & Jinx or Victor or Jayce & professor H. Thank you for the reaction😭
That hug was everything…..but junkies in fiend mode have no friends.
Yeah I like to think Ekko joined the Firelights (I have no idea). Thats why they kept Vi alive. Who knows tho, still very excited for the finale.
Cait and Vi definitely eye fucked each during that stare.
There's also a couple hints in this and last episode as well.
Vi is pretty much flirty with Caitlyn constantly ("You're hot, Cupcake.", her reasoning for using that nickname, the way she looks at Caitlyn when she's flirting with the other woman).
When Vi asks Caitlyn man or woman, instead of just having her say "I'm gay" we get a scene later that shows she picked a woman to flirt with. It's the writers way of saying she's gay through showing, not telling.
Also if you look at that scene with Caitlyn and the other woman, if you are familiar with the Greek god Artemis (lesbian Goddess), you'll see that pretty much every detail in it is a reference to her. And it depicts Caitlyn as Artemis and the other woman as one of the many nymphs (female worshipers) that service her. Said nymphs are forbidden from actually pursuing a sexual relationship with Artemis, and so in the same way the thing between Caitlyn and the brothel woman doesn't go past playful flirting. Vi, on the other hand, may as well be considered another Goddess in the comparison, so unlike the woman/nymph she can pursue a relationship with Caitlyn/Artemis. TLDR, whole scene was there to show Caitlyn is 100% gay and Vi wants her cupcake.
Caitlyn warms up to the nickname when Vi tells her why she calls her that ("You're so sweet, like a cupcake."). It gets a sorta shy chuckle out of her.
When they're in Vi's old home (the rundown shack) Caitlyn keeps reminding her of her past parental figures, Caitlyn says she has a good heart and Vander's words start playing in her head. When Caitlyn comes to give her the medicine we are shown Vi's perspective briefly at the start and she sees Caitlyn as her mother taking care of her. There's an old saying about a person's soulmate sharing characteristics with and reminders of their parents. Feeding into that, Vi's name, Violet, is the same color that Caitlyn's hair and outfit have.
When Caitlyn goes to get medicine, she is essentially presented with the question "What are you willing to lose to save her?" when the alchemist demands a trade. And Caitlyn responds with a rather telling answer, trading away her rifle. For Vi's life she would trade away her own protection and a large part of who she is.
After Vi gets the medicine and they do the long stare at each other, if you pay attention you can see how their eyes flick to each other's lips briefly. All the facial details are hand animated, someone went in and made that deliberately. Also the way Caitlyn pulls away quickly and stammers subtly when she tries to change topic by bringing up Jinx, and looks around anywhere but at Vi as she talks quickly. She was having some not so lady like thoughts in her head.
TLDR: This shit been hinted at for 9 damn years and Rito finally telling everyone the obvious. Harold, they're lesbians.
Jinx is so far gone I’m scared! 😱
