  1. My friend group hosts watch parties every Saturday evening and we watched this last week. When the episode ended like that literally everyone in the room went "NOOOOO!! FUCK! NOOOO"

  2. I like the parallels that were there for Mel and her mother vs the Silco and Jinx relationship. Also, the title really can interpreted multiple ways, because at the end of the day a lot of people did play a part in creating the monster that Jinx became

  3. Heimerdinger tried to tell this man, and now a little ball of magic made him it's bitch. Viktor can't get a break man.

Mel is dead before that thing even explodes. Jayce and Viktor will survive some how, but everyone else on the counsel is fair game. As for Cait, it's going to make things even more personal between her and Jinx no matter how badly hurt her mom is. But I don't think she is full on dead, because that might come between the main ship a little too much.

  4. This ending is perfect. There are no loose ends as far as the story is concerned. This is not the story of the war between the two cities, it is a story of some hopeful idealistic youths, and when that rocket hits the council room, no matter what happens then, there are none of them left anymore.

  5. Another point about the part when Silco was 1v1 agaisnt Vi in the verbal battle. He was so mad and jumpy and it was not because he felt like he was losing, but because he UNDERSTANDS Jinx that those words "Milo, Vander, Greg, Mom, Dad" was so so so triggering towards a person who has PTSD especially Jinx, those words wouldn't help her at all like Vi imagined, it only makes her so much more crazy and uncontrollable of her own thoughts, so that was why he wanted to use the gun to shoot Vi, he just wanted her to shut up and he was being jumpy prolly because he just wanted to give Jinx a hug and give her comfort. Also, Jinx was only following her instinct (this was shown many times every time she was triggered, if there is any sound of guns clicking, or people moving towards her, she will automatically go into survival mode) and that was why she killed Silco on accident.. well.. not really.. but you understand.

  6. I don't mind cliffhangers. It's frustrating to not know what's going to happen for a while, but the fact that we're all eager with anticipation shows just how successful they were with the show. Really insanely good.

  7. You know when silco was breaking free from the rope he could have done that at anytime tbh but the reason why he did that was because when vi was calling her name powder and telling her to remember everything it was hurting jinx not helping her because it was giving her ptsd of what she did on killing her family vi was unintentional she thought it was helping but it wasn’t so that’s why silco was getting upset and saying her name is jinx because he knew that calling her powder cause her pain and makes her mentally unstable that’s why you saw the gun shot at the chair silco wasn’t going to kill vi he just wanted her to shut up because vi calling jinx powder was hurting her but at the end of the day powder was the one that killed silco for vi but silco death made jinx kill powder

I wish vi tried to understand that powder is still in jinx but she doesn’t want you to only see her as powder anymore because she blames that side for losing everything she cared about but vi was taken by Marcus locked up for years thinking her sister would be ok not knowing that her sister literally is broken to piece falling apart each and every moment but she still loved you she just wanted to love the new her not defenseless not a screw up.

  8. So here's my take away from this episode at the end. I think a lot of people miss some things, specifically about Vi.

Objectively, Silco loves Jinx. But, even she says it: he manipulated them all. Caused it all, kept Vi away from her, and so much more; she basically put it together at that moment that he was involved with Vander; something she honestly did not know. It's her coming to the understanding and realization that she too loved Silco as a father, but he still hurt her. Just not as badly as others have, and not necessarily directly (as they didn't become a family until after "Vi left") or intentionally (he legitimately didn't know Vi was alive).

So when you get to the the part when Jinx fires the weapon… that was Jinx choosing Vi over Silco. That's objectively what happened. Silco was going to shoot Vi, and Jinx chose to save her. Realizing that Silco did care for her at the moment, putting it all together that it was his fault but also he did in fact care, meant that she also chose something else. She chose to be Jinx and follow in his footsteps of continuing with the plan.

She finally was able to stop depending on people; to think and choose things for herself. That's why she says what she says to Vi. That essentially she thought Vi could love her like she used to even though she's different, but Vi also changed. Vi objectively, again, loves Jinx but she also loves Caitlyn and Jinx knows that. THAT is the key thing I think people miss. Vi absolutely understands that "Jinx" is Powder; and she still loves her. She's trying to help her. Jinx recognizes that they've both changed, and that things can never go back to the way they were; something Vi also comes to a realization of. Essentially that they both have to get over the past. Which, if you notice, Jinx is over her trauma. Prior to this? Prior to the shimmer? She was crazy and unstable because of that trauma. Now? She's stable, but still crazy. And the thing is… her trauma was never about killing the others. Yes, killing Mylo and Claggor hurt her and put her into a terrible mental state, but it's always, always, always been about Vi leaving her that pushed her into having a psychotic break. That's why her demons were mainly Mylo. Mylo was the personification of her self loathing, her doubt, her paranoia, and her anger all focused on Vi. It's why when she had a psychotic episode Vi scratches were everywhere, and Mylo was always talking about Vi. Why Mylo became loudest when Caitlyn was around, because it was about Vi.

And Jinx shot Mylo because it was representation of her being done with that. She's still crazy, as we all know, but she's more stable. And when she says "here's to the new us" she purposefully left Caitlyn alone because she knows Vi loves her. So while she definitely still hates her, and god only knows what'll happen in the future, that moment, she loved her sister enough to let Caitlyn live.

Regardless of the interpretation of the ending, this story is so good at invoking emotion. It has insanely well made characters and deep relationships. Silco was a perfect villain because he became Vander in the end. The dichotomy of his desire to prove to Vander he could be a great father and also still maintain his desires was well crafted for such a short number of episodes. It made him feel like a character that you wanted to root for towards the end, but quickly remembered all of the deeds he's done and question why you feel that way. It makes you rethink everyone's choices. Wonder if Jinx was really to blame for any of it, if Vi maybe pushed her too much (as Jinx mentions Vi always being there and being the reason she was alive). It's all just so intricate and well crafted.

I'm glad I got to watch your reactions to this. I think you've had some of the deepest discussions and interesting takes on this that I've seen. Thanks for sharing the reaction with us! I can't wait for season 2, and I'll for sure watch some of your other reactions (as I have been already).

  9. This show did so well in helping us understand the perspective and motives of the “villains”. Pain in Naruto is the reference I always go to (not relating their strength lol) because from one side he was killing innocent people, destroying villages for no reason, but then we see his side, this is what HE feels is right, it was the justice he thought should be brought down because of what the Leaf did to his people. In a fucked up way, Silco really saw Jinx as a daughter. I honestly don’t think he would have given her up, he saw Jinx, with how psychotic and too far gone she was, Silco saw her as perfect.

  10. She only wanted her sister's love or at least recognition but Vi didn't give any back. It all went down from ep6, at that moment Vi was still able to reach Powder but was interrupted by Caitlyn and Ekko, after that Vi never tried again. she just agreed with what Caitlyn said ( who she only new for a couple of days) and everyone else around her, and went as far as wanting to start a war against Silco knowing that her sister is still with him, she went from wanting war against Piltover and the enforcers to wanting war against Zaun and Silco. She never learned from Vander that no one wins at war(at least Silco the bad guy understood Vander at the end). Vi changed for the worst because of Caitlyn. So as Jinx said “here’s to the new us.”

  11. I can't believe this show made me cry for someone like Silco. I feel bad for Jinx, the voices in her head made her feel and doubt everyone yet even in his death, Silco assured his love for her and said she was perfect just the way she was. All Jinx wanted was acceptance, and now the only person who did is dead.

  12. Predictions, jayce lives mostly unharmed. Victor is maimed, nearly dead. The rest of the counselors dead or severely wounded including Mel and jayces mother if she was present. Either victor tells jayce to bring him to the hexcore (or jayce figures it out on his own). The hexcore will finish the transformation saving victors life. Jayce, the only surviving counsel member throws peace out of the door having lost loved ones and engages war on zahn

  13. This was a masterpiece! The ending tho. I couldn't stop crying. Feels bad for almost every character as it all seems so believable. Love every character but Jinx and Viktor are definitely my favs.
Looks like Jinx have enhanced abilities now and a rocket launcher powered by hextech. Poor Pilltover.

  14. 10:24 …. "In pursuit of great, we failed to do good. We have to make it right." That line gives us a glimmer of hope down the road.
in other movie situations that is never said, we always hear, "What have we done?" Which sounds like there's no hope.

  15. I think Sevika is gonna be the new leader of Zaun, since in the ending, it is shown that she's smoking a cigarette the same kind as Silco's, foreshadowing that she's replacing him. I think she's gonna play a major role in season 2 and it would be awesome if Riot makes her a champion.

  16. Remember, Silco called Vander weak for not being able to sell out his family. And now Silco is in the exact same position and can't sell out Jinx either. He really loves her for who she is, not who she was like Vi. That's also why he only went ape shit when Vi brought up the past again. The past hurts Jinx and Silco knows it. And while he was fine with letting the two talk because he knows Vi can't change shit, when Vi brought up Vander, Claggor and Mylo again he was about to shoot her just so she couldn't hurt his daughter any more.

  17. It's not odd at all, the advices Mel gave has always ones that makes sense in her pov. When they talk about how it is very possible that someone in zaun can weaponize the gemstone she suggests countermeasures. I thought Victor was too close minded because he doesn't have the responsibility the council had.
