Character roster is next on our League Reactions, after we do Genshin Impact character reactions!
SADLY 3 songs in this video got claimed so we had to work around that. I uploaded this video a total of 3 times! Hopefully you guys enjoy 😁
Demons in League aren't based on sins, they're based on emotion. Each of them feeds on one emotion or on the emotions associated with one concept, and, the older the demon, the broader that emotion is and the more powerful they are. So Fiddlesticks, for example, is the oldest one in the lore and feeds on Fear, while Tahm Kench feeds on Addiction and Evelynn, on Agony. There are two other demons we know of: Nocturne, who you saw fighting Ryze in A Twist of Fate, feeds on nightmares and Raum, who got captured by Swain and became his demonic arm, feeds on secrets.
Riot changes the lore of old champions all the time so it's possible for them to make Arcane canon.
There is a comic of the civil war of demacia, yo can check it out, and also there is a comic of Jhin, and other of Jinx, i recomend to read them all.
The thing with Seraphine is outside of League. One day Riot made a twitter account for Seraphine, and she was able to interact with the league community and social media in general. After MONTHS of "selling" us Seraphine she finally get's announced and released. Turns out that OUR Seraphine was the K/DA Sera. All of our hype was all directed to a $30 skin.
The base Seraphine in lore was just a normal girl who can hear the hearts (thoughts/desires) of people. One day she hears a voice coming from a hex crystal, which turns out to be a Brackern Namestone. Brackern is the species of scorpions that Skarner belongs to. These namestones are what give those scorpions life. Without it they either stay in a coma-like state or immediately die. A special trait of the brackern is that their "mind" stays sealed within the crystal, and these crystals were one day "extracted" from the Brackern and are currently being used to power Hextech machines/inventions.
Coming back to Seraphine.
She hears a voice coming from the crystal, and it turns out that one of the Brackern was crying out.
Long story made shorter, she decided to BUILD A FLOATING PLATFORM WITH SPEAKERS USING HER HEX CRYSTAL SO THAT SHE COULD SING TO THE PILTOVANS ABOUT HOW NOT TO SUFFER.
Basically, her lore was all a mess. Not throughly fleshed out nor did it make sense.
So seraphim. While I'm more neutral towards her than others I can understand the hate. It is multifaceted.
Marketing: months before her release the company made a Twitter account that was run as if it was her, talking with fans to build a relationship with them. Then when she came out she was the first champion to be released with a 30$ skin.
Gameplay: her gameplay isn't very original as it extremely close to Sona's, whose esthetic she is also intruding on.
Lore: I won't go into detail because of possible future arcane spoilers but she find something disturbing about hextech but she keeps using it regardless. Aside from that, she doesn't have a lot going for her, as she was made to be introduced to KDA first and Runeterra second. Lastly her asthenic in her default skin doesn't fit piltover and Zaun, where she lives, but instead looks closer to a star guardian.
This is not anime.. stop
They have made league comics of some of the stories that you should react to. Even one on this demacia mage Lux story.
If you trust ONE thing from us here at Youtube and our friends on Twitch, DON'T PLAY LEAGUE PLEASE. I have played it for nearly 8 years now and trust me it is not worth it. Yes the characters are cool. Maybe join if there's a cool event mode. But the toxicity can taint your view of the game and ESPECIALLY its lore. Example: Yasuo has a really cool lore behind him and his stories and connections are amazing, but in game if you play him you will be targeted for all kinds of harassment. The game is very competitive even just in normal mode or the "for fun" gamemode (ARAM). TFT and LoR have much nicer communities and you can still play your favourite champions in there, and some times they're better than in league! (Remember Aurelion Sol? Basically the God of this universe, how everyone said he's bad in League of Legends? In LoR he's a very good card with a playstyle to match his personality :D) Don't get me wrong, you can still play League if you want to, we won't stop you. But take it from us that have played, got addicted and now cannot leave, it's not worth your mental.
Sincerely,
An Addicted Lore Lover
you HAVE to react to champion themes after finishing songs
If you want to do more league music, you can listen to the champion themes. They are all really, really good. I specifically like Pantheon, Aphelios, and Rell.
When u recognize the composer you like "i hear this kind of music before"
It would be auper fun to see you react to honkai impact cutscenes! Theyre kinda spoilers, but out of context
The warriors one im prertty the reason the other demica soilders weren't upset at lux was because they were garen's, and lux's personally army. So they most likely knew or didn't care because they served under them
Valorant – LoL – Wild Rift – Tft are like paralel universes, they aren't together except when some shit happend as it do in the arcana event web page
14:31 honestly idc if people say it's "not cannon" as far as I'm concerned the Arcane storyline is the best storyline for all the Piltover/Zaun characters and to me that makes it canon.
Valorant is the futuristic version of runeterra iirc
Seraphine is a bit of an odd case to be honest. There's a lot of small things that irked people from her teasers to release. Riot tried building her up like some real person, with her own twitter and everything, on which they reference stuff like mental illnesses and it all just came off kind of… Off? If you catch my drift.
Then there's the lore bits which were also inconsistent and kind of cruel. In game and in lore, she uses a sort of hovering stage, which is powered by a magical energy source, this energy source however, stems from a race of crystalline creatures called the Brackern, and it's said being used and harvested for energy is a basically torment for these creatures. Here's where the inconsistencies comes into play. Seraphine can sort of hear the "voices" of people, and she can hear her own Stage / the Brackern speak to her, who for some reason is encouraging her just… Going along with it, despite his race being in shambles and supposedly should be in torment etc.
Then there's the design in general. She's a music themed champion with music theme abilities whom aesthetically just looks like a better version of Sona, so a lot of people felt like Sona lost a lot of her identity now that Seraphine is here. Riot is really good at making distinct champions with their own kits and identities, and though Seraphine feels a lot different to play, it just doesn't sit well at all. They both function on a system of "Cast 3 spells to empower something" and an Ultimate ability where they shoot out a wide beam of light, which essentially does the same. Sona makes enemies dance, Seraphine charms and makes enemies walk towards her.
So in a TLDR, Seraphine, to a lot of people, myself included, felt like a corporate cash grab, who sort of trotted over an existing character, with inconsistent lore and an uncanny twitter profile that tried to built her up like a real person.
