  1. If a person can play a video game and get respect from being good at it, it gives them a feeling of success on an even playing field where personal wealth doesn't come into effect

  2. There is a sense of socialising in gaming, voice chats in game plus tools such as discord which enables video calls is no different to being on a zoom meeting. I can say they’re addicting but only for as long as that game lasts.

  3. When I was a kid I was mega into games and felt I couldn't be without them however when I got to 19-20 it all stopped and couldn't concentrate on then for a single second at all. I was also heavy into sports as well

  4. Wow! Really surprised by this guys take on this “play games have fun but still keep it balanced and in moderation” very refreshing seeing a balanced take that looks at the positives and negatives to both sides of the topic

  5. Don't even play them and haven't for over 15 years. Never understood how someone can waste so much of their time on something that isn't real. To have fun once in a while I can see, but outside of that I don't really get it.

  6. Teach them to learn moderation. If they don't know when to stop. They will never stop and gaming can become expensive

So what I do with myself is set up rewards for not gaming and working or doing things around the houses. This way it doesn't take much to get out of the cycle and get bored of gaming. (Reward is making a cup of tea or quick bake donuts)

  7. To be honest there’s not a single game right now where I can sit on my ass and play for 5-6 hours. The last game where I could do that was Destiny.

  8. I grew up as a gamer, I game daily but only for 40mins – 1hr and I game competitively when I have time so I don't think it's addictive unless you have an addictive personality and you see that a lot in people who abuse drugs, alcohol etc

  9. The thing is, physical sports and physically activity directly correlate to physical and mental health. Esports gamers are a far cry physically from any sports people. Just have a look at the kids, they aren’t going to the gym everyday…

  10. Why would anyone take advice from this person? He is a convicted criminal. He knowingly ripped off hard working people and has yet to pay many of them back; if he ever will at all. He screwed over his first wife. He is MINUS 100 million in net worth. Hardly a model citizen to look up to or take financial advise for that matter. As a society we need to dig deeper and not support these types of people. I actually feel I’m wasting energy writing this post.
