  1. The only thing getting stale is how people refuse to play as a team and try to win in games. Either they just do dumb tasks for ugly cosmetics or care more about their KD than actually playing the game and complete objectives.

  2. Video games are not becoming stale but thoughts of gaming community are indeed very "stale". I was watching you when Breaking point was the shit. I was a brat that had been interested realistic guns and gameplay. But later and later time advanced the big streamers, youtubers or any "known" persons thoughts become the cultural norm of gaming community. Instead of waiting someone to shape the out of date way of thinkings in our heads we have to regain or imagination and remember what do we like to do in game ? not everything has to become competitive or not everyone has to wear/use meta gear loudout etc. As for the give first hand example of what the fuck am i trying to say: Im currently playing tarkov atm because like i said above i like guns :D. I do whatever i want in game and that is the simple way of happiness that people seemed to forget. Glad you are back tho. My childhoods favorite "gun" reviewer :D.

  3. Sad but true stuff. The last games that I felt really made a big impact on me recently were Red Dead Redemption 2 and The Last of Us 2, I think in the aspect of story the Devs behind these games are making a lot of progress. But I absolutely get how you feel, for me the last game to really push it to the next level was Doom Eternal, finally something that pushed the player in all the right ways. Maybe give these games a try?

  4. In my very misinformed opinion, companies nowadays are worrying WAY too much about graphics. Crazy much. (Hopefully it's just a few more years till they reach a reasonable stance on graphicality.)

Those games are there to pose as eye-candy and get a bunch of sales quickly, like you said here.

When was the last time we've seen significant improvements on AI since HL2, for example?

Cyberpunk appears to be a god damn mess. Though players claim to have enjoyed the story.

  6. Personally, this is why I stay away from AAA titles in general, but tbh the indie scene has had some pretty good games recently. Personally I have been playing a lot of Deep Rock Galactic (cooperative fps and resource collecting game with small team matches) and more recently I have been getting into Everspace 2 (open world space looter shooter). Really waiting for Atomic Heart to come out though, since it has the potential to be an amazing story FPS game given everything we know so far. Also there have been tactical shooters like Ground Branch and Zero Hour which have been gaining traction lately.

  7. It's difficult to see innovation from an AAA, because the developers have more than themselves to care about. While their game is deemed to cost a lot of money, their fund usually comes from their own unlike indie usually raised money from funding and can plan on how much they want to cost depending on the interests of the investors, so AAA usually takes the safest approach. Stardew Valley is a good game made by one guy, but its success has nothing to do with innovating.

In one of sandstorm dev stream they said that from an artist's point of view, it is nicer to work for an AAA game because it's a better place to try out the limit of the generation.
