At the start of 12.9, BSG put a dent in the “VAL Gamer” meta, decreasing the gun’s accuracy, decreasing its ergonomics, and increasing the gun’s recoil rather significantly. The belief in doing this was that the gun itself would be used less and, because it was less controllable, become less lethal overall.
However, this has now changed due to an update today that gave a rather huge buff to all of the 9×39 rounds as well as an ergo and visual recoil buff to the AS VAL. This means we could see the return of the VAL gamer.

I KNEW it first time I tried the Val this wipe was horrible, a few days ago I tried it again and it was different, less recoil, great.
Hopefully the fixed the reload bug regarding the VAL, I’ve used it through thick and thin as my budget Wipe weapon as well as Killa runs. There was a bad problem while reloading your guy wouldn’t actually reload and he would just take out the mag and not slot a fresh one leaving you with a clip less gun.
This "Val gamer" meme is so stupid to me, especially the negative connotations. The VAL is in the game for ages and I'm using it for just as long. I came to fancy this gun purely due to the Stalker franchise (which is what also brought me to Tarkov back then). Then the game becomes hype years later due the first twitch drop event etc aka the game's first apocalypse as I like to call it and people started slowly to realize that its a really dope gun and all of a sudden it's seen as some sweaty scrub gun… to me the nerf wasnt even really a nerf and I always kept using it and will.
I'd even say the "buff" wasn't necessary at all. Then again… BSG's balancing and especially balancing priorities never make sense so maybe I shouldn't be surprised. shrug

Does the fir thing apply to everything, because I know last wipe I found 4 total lupo beans in the underground food bunkers on reserve, and I couldn’t pick them all up.

I dont understand why they make big sweeping changes and then reverse them, reeks of devs that don't know what theyre doing, I played WOT for years and ultimately quit for this very reason when they're constantly power creeping old guns and hyping new guns and changing the meta every month. Why not just change the rounds first and see what happens. Or change the gun first and leave the rounds alone. Instead of wildly swinging around the nerf and buff hammer with zero precision.
I want to see the found in raid apply to backpack stacking, ive often found raiders or scavs with big backpacks and it won't let you stack them, I know they did it to cut down on rmt but if you are killing raiders and taking their backpacks then I dont think you should get punished for it

A heavy subsonic round has more pen than dedicated ap rounds. Very balanced much wow
7.62×51 M993 in tarkov has a pen value of 70 and a damage of 67.
in real life m993 penetrates 18mm of steel at 50 yards.
9×39 sp-6 in tarkov has a penetration value of 46 and a damage of 58.
in real life sp-6 penetrates 8mm of steel at 50 yards. with a velocity of 305 meters per second.
7.62×39 bp has a pen value of 47 and a damage of 58. with a velocity of 700+ meters per second.
but heres the problem. 9×39 is a modified 7.62×39 cartridge. its essentially the same bullet with less gunpowder behind it. meaning that 9×39 is subsonic. to penetrate armor of any kind, you need speed. lots of it. just because its big doesnt mean anything. you can throw a brick at a steel plate and nothing happens. but you throw it at the steel plate at 1000 meters per second and yeah.. my point is, 7.62 and 9×39 are damn near identical, except one is MUCH slower. that being said, both 7.62×39 and 9×39 have very similar weights, with steel penetrators. HOW DO THEY BOTH HAVE THE SAME PENETRATION VALUE IN TARKOV. can somebody with brains look at this for once. i cant be the only person left on reality. thought tarkov was supposed to be a combat simulator.
realistically 7.62×39 bp should be around where it is for stats in game. but ALL 9×39 rounds should have a penetration value no higher than 35-40, arguably less. if my point isnt clear enough. re-read it. that being said. 9×39 sp-6 should behave the same in terms of armor pen, as a 5.45×39 BT round.
How does this compare to the stats before the nerfs? You should include a comparison to the pre-nerf stats if those are available.
