AS VAL PvP Build and Gameplay – Escape From Tarkov

Hey everyone, welcome to the channel for another Escape From Tarkov video. This week, I became a VAL Gamer for a while to test out how the VAL and VSS fit into the current PvP meta, and I must say, this rifle is still top-tier within its effective range!

Hope you enjoy the video, and let me know what you think down in the comments!

  1. I tend to stick with the 25 meter zero red dots (pko, delta point, rmr, etc) when using the val/vss or other subsonic guns. If I use things like the eotech, uh-1, kobra (defaults at 50 meter zero), it doesn't seem like my shots are hitting where i want

  2. Actually think that Nikita would better nerf all recoil and argo stats of m4's and ak's but buff val and vss. This is pretty stupid that u've got less recoil on full auto 5.45 or 5.56 long barrel that "special forces" small gun with integral suppressor. Idk there are lot's of unbalanced guns with great meta stats (mp7,vector) but such a masterpiece of art is nerfed and bouncing like ash-12.

  3. They should nerf that long jump shit I’m against this game feeling like u weigh 400 pounds but ain’t nobody irl jumping across a hallway with a heavy ass gun armor helmet and a backpack with mags on them too🤣

  4. Hey Jdog, want to let you know that there is a trade for the sr3m 30-rounders, from prapor which runs pretty cheap. Its only 4 pliers per mag which equates to roughly 20k-25k a mag.

  5. I think the most hilarious part about the history of the VAL/VSS is that right after BSG finished about 8 months of stat tuning on the weapons, they added the Vector.

In a way I miss the VAL when it had high 40s vertical recoil, at least now that we have the Vector. The 9mm Vector is generally more effective at range than the VAL due to the combo of mag size and super low recoil, not to mention the faster moving 7n31. Even at 48 vertical or whatever it was, the VAL still took some skill to deal with mid range targets , and it always had the 30 round mag cap.

  6. It's a rifle for semi auto precision fire. It's not a SMG so don't use it like it is. It's hilarious to see majority of players like idea of realism (why would they join EFT development then) who don't even bother to think how real weapons are actually used IRL and use them accordingly in the game. So hypocritical.

  7. I swear I get one of these every moonshine I’ve done.

Edit: I haven’t really used any of them but I have a literal ton of SP5 ammo. Is it worth using at all?

  8. The guns literally a sniper rifle irl. You can hit shots a long range. Disregard that part. Everything else is super on point. obviously add a vudu or your favorite adjustable scope a d you'll hit decent ranged shots.

  9. Honestly, I sold all the VALs I looted, because I didn't want to buy mags&ammo for them ^^'
Then again, even the "worst" ammo is so strong, that I might just try it out the next time I find one 😀

  11. Jdog, what do you think of the idea of the 3 different kind of tapes Duct tape, blue insulating tape, and kek tape, all being used as "attachments" that give different tiers of ergo and recoil stats to guns with wooden stocks. For example duct tape giving reduced recoil, blue insulating tape giving increased ergonomics and perhaps Kektape could give both. Or have all 3 give both reduced recoil and increased ergo, but have different tiers. such as Duct tape is -2 recoil and plus 2 ergo. Blue tape is -3 recoil and plus 3 ergo. and kek tape being -4 recoil and plus 6 ergo. They would also need to be a one time use, meaning it is consumed when applied to the gun, and if you take it off, its destroyed.

I think a change like this would fit the realism and "scav" aesthetic that tarkov is going for, while giving some love to guns that go under used like the SV-98 or have very little to no mods such as the VSS. It would make scav guns more usable in the early game such as the ADAR and VEPR variants, all while making the game feel THAT much more in depth. You can find pictures of battlefields ALL over Russia and eastern Europe where guys have taped up their weapons to make them more comfortable.

Not only that, but it could make for some interesting budget builds, and is a way to help newer players learn the importance of weapon modding by being really simple and less intimidating. Instead of giving your new friend a budget ADAR preset, tell him to slap some tape on his AKS-74 with the GP-25 recoil pad and lets get into raid!

I think the numbers would have to be adjusted so that they are balanced, on the underwhelming side of course.
