Can you defeat the demon, Commander Zhalk? Yes. Absolutely.
Nautiloid Tanks. Nautiloid tanks are the answer. Pick them up. Throw them. Destroy everything!
You might also need a little bit of luck on your side, because if Commander Zhalk gets free of the Mind Flayer, he will one shot you.
Is it worth it?
Well, let’s find out.
It is also worth noting, once Commander Zhalk is defeated, the Mind Flayer will turn on you.

I killed him the other night, took the opportunity with a Githyanki Wizard after the Mindflayer Crit twice. He dropped a basic Greatsword, which was pretty dope for the Wiz. I may have followed up that act by murdering Shadowheart in 1 shot after she threatened me.

Listen, I'm not saying "give us a Wish scroll for slaying a Devil", but any sort of compensation would be nice. Like, all I want is a level 10 booster, is that too much to ask for? Fucking bullshit.

i just sat the thing neer him and wait foir the other 2 devils to come in and blew them up all at once
pretty funny but not worth it. relode kept the bomes and the do com in hand aginst well any of the big fights i hily recomedn save any thing that gose boom in you camp like wine or black powder or oil barrels. can use them on the spider queen the hag hell even the dragon if you want. but dragon dies and disppers you dont get any thin off the dragon eather!
We killed them. Get to the top of the stares and keep shoving them off with one and hitting with the other, ( we had 2 PC and the Gith NPC and the brain NPC)
It's still in Beta let us petition them!
If I get kidnapped and at level 1-2 kill a member of Hells Army and or a Mind-Flayer!!..I want a god somewhere to call me their favorite!
An amulet with a unique ability.
A shiny red button that does nothing.

I think if you use explosions to kill an enemy then you shouldn't get anything on it's person because it should all be destroyed
I killed Commander Zhalk the first time I got lucky my 30% chance of hitting attacks kept hitting him and the mind flaire was actually doing good damage. Inearly died and came close to being swarmed by the Cambions and in the end… I got crap exp and a great sword… Not worth the effort
They are Devils not Demons they are very different things in D&D and in fact they hate each other. They are actually at war which you see in the cut scene.
Wow that is a huge oversite on Lairan's part not putting XP on that guy and or an epic weapon or drop being your taking a huge chance fighting that guy.
me and my friends killed him, the mind flayer, and the two cambions after a two hour intense fight you can shoot the bulbs above their head to spread flammable liquid on the floor and keep pushing em into it for dps damage
It is possible to kill the commander. And it isn't worth it. It's just a basic +1 greatsword basically.
At least give some xp
I want to know what happens if you kill everyone except the Mind Flayer, does he attack you or say anything else?
I think he does not award xp just because you would get to lvl 2 if he did (killing the cambions gives you 50 xp each and another 2 greatswords so you are 40 xp short for the lvl up). They should give you a little something tho…

Effectively starting the game with a Greatsword is actually huge. They can't give you anything of real value as it will undermine other things coming up. But starting with a Greatsword which would otherwise not be attained till lvl2-3. And having a melee damage dealer adding several more points of damage than they would otherwise have accesss too. Really adds up in the early game.

You can skip almost whole tutorial….just jump through window by the tentacle machine right after you meet lazelle and your done. Also killing the dragon and the githyanki commander gets you no xp and no loot …bummer.
If you wanna see a fun fight…enter the underdark from the theives lair. Stand on the ledge and throw the bottle you got from the theives chest with the Spectator at the Minotaurs. The Minotaurs usually win, but have almost no https left. Very entertaining….😃
You don't need the tanks, you can just straight up kill him. It's especially easy with a four man party. We got through him and one of the adds before we had to hit the eject to avoid death.

Probably. Pick up all the nautiloid tanks, drop them at his feet and ignite. Edit: Yup.
Edit again: You don't have to throw them. Just drop item from inventory, all of them, if you wish… Then, drag to move where you want. Doesn't cost an action or anything.
Lol it was super easy to kill him. We thought we had to kill him to go on. Was surprised when his henchmen came.

Killed him on the first try with the exploding tanks. Gave me a normal two hander. Not quite worth the effort.
