Everyone, a couple of the links in the "Other stuff you should check out" section that were broken should now be working.
Think I'll do a Paladin-character for the beta. Larian suggesting an evil character is all well and good but I like my true-neutral characters in RPGs that can actually change throughout a game depending on what I want to do rather than pressured to keep.
This video was so descriptive and high quality I thought it was an official video from Larian!

I used to be a heavy D&D player and novel reader in my youth in the 1990s. The last Forgotten Realms books I read were the original Drizzt Trilogy. That said I've never heard of Tieflings or Githyanki. They must have risen to prominence in the last 20 years.
This the first video I have seen from you: You have a really nice voice and the chill out music in the back makes it really nice to listen to you. Keep going.
Hmmm… that UI is very underwhelming. I was expecting something solid, with rock/wood/metal elements, not a… well… Windows 10 taskbar ^^

Glad to see githyanki, drow, and all the new subraces, but I really hope they add at least one monstrous race.
Although I have full trust with Larian..Baldurs Gate not being real-time with pause does not seem to be a successor. If only Obsidian adapts the D&D rules, then Pillars would have been the closest thing to a Baldurs Gate 3. That being said, I will fully support and purchase this game. Larian's turn-based and support to their game and community is just top notch.

This character creation doesn't allow you to make pretty female face, and all presets looks kinda unappealing, a little bit sad.
All this cool character feature just to see the camera in top view ….smh

No Gnomes, No Buy.
The faces aspect turned out to be a huge lie. We get 8 per race and gender. Drow get their own set, High Elf gets their own set, Human get their own set, etc. It's not 100+ per gender, which is how they made it sound.
We all know this is for PC, but are they planning on making this available on PS5/Series X as well?

No, the choice isnt mine, considering that a pre made characters at least in Divinity games, had unique quest and backstories, which were missing when you created your own character. that is why im very sceptical about larian games

While I love playing Wizards, don't do that in BG3. It really sucks with the current subclasses available. Abjuration doesn't really help, only evocation.
Warlock and Ranger is a really cool combo if you play with a friend. Can't wait for more subclasses like Hexblade. And Beastmaster is really good for Ranger.

honestly, the bit im most excited about is the fact that crafting will be limited.
excessive crafting mechanics is one of those things that has been plaguing narrative RPGs over the past decade. at some point, someone just decided that excessive crafting mechanics is something that belongs into every high quality game, especially big open world games, to make them even bigger.
it does not add to any story driven RPG experience, ever. in fact, it takes away from it. all it adds is fluff and junk and padding. all it does is dilute the actual experience with the most unsatisfying facet of the gameplay. it belongs in survival horror games, not story driven RPGs.
I can't fucking wait for the full game. I want tons of races and classes and dlc.
