Baldur’s Gate 3 – New Druid Gameplay

In Larian’s Panel From Hell 2, the studio showed off their biggest patch yet, with the latest addition coming to the game being the new Druid class and with it their wild shape ability allowing players to take the form of a plethora of beasts both in combat and while exploring the world.

But there are also several other changes coming along with the patch, namely big cinematic improvements, shinier speak with dead animations, quality of life changes, multiplayer and more!

Larian just got done showing off its biggest Baldur’s Gate 3 patch to date in its second Panel From Hell.
The biggest addition coming to the game of course being the new Druid class and with it their wild shape ability allowing players to take the form of a plethora of beasts both in combat and while exploring the world.

Druids feature heavily in the first act of the story in the early access version of BG3 so we can expect to see some changes whenever the world of wilderness and druids are concerned.

Players will be able to choose from druidic circles of the moon and the land, using their class abilities to shapeshift into anything from a badger, wolf, dire raven and more.

But there are also a number of other changes coming along with the patch, namely big cinematic improvements, shinier speak with dead animations, quality of life changes, multiplayer and more!

  1. Things Larian needs to do.
    1. Blood doesn't need to be permanent. Ashes can fade away, so can blood over time.
    2. Mobs should not have AE type throwables/grenades in general. It's something that in BG1 (and no not being "purist" just stating for low lvl D&D in general) mobs wouldn't have except for a very few special cases.
    3. Denominations of money. Where are the copper and silver? If you start with everything in gold, it's hard to go anywhere from there. Start small, buff later.

  2. that was the most scuffed animation i've ever seen, i hope they improve those when the game gets fully released. Because i'd rather divinity 2 type of storytelling instead of bad animations. Gameplay is sick tho. I hope the whole game isn't that dark, i loved colorful environment of dos2.

  3. Wow, game adds a DRUID class ! What an original, awe-inspiring addition that's totally never been done before!! I'm so excited to play some other lame, over-utilized character class that brings nothing new or original to the table.

  4. looks at gameplay nope nothing is fixed, pretty sure druid is not going to work as intended in 5e either….really 5e is D&D for babies how can they be so bad at games they fuck it up

  5. I don't usually play this type of classic RPGs, but I'd like to get into it….I like the sense of adventure in it and how it's basically the manifestation of a tabletop/pen-and-paper RPG adventure come to life!

Does it support game controllers, or is it just keyboard & mouse?

  6. Larian Studios is the only one i have trust left after what happened with CP2077. If this gonna so enjoyable than D:OS 1-2, i wont be disappointed. However, preorder is a no-go from now on for me , thanks to CDPR….

  7. yeeeeeeeeees! oh my god Larian i love you holy shit, my whole life i mostly played druid in dnd because of one thing; wild shape. Shapeshifting has and always will be my favorite power in anything. And there are very few games that have shapeshifting mechanics, or good ones at least. but this, this is going to be so much fun.

  8. so gameplay is much like fire emblem? I dont like the limited movement stuff. except in fire emblem.. but fire emblem has always been that way. baldurs gate use to be a diablo clone.. now its a diablo/fire emblem clone.

  9. Am i the only one who for once, would like a druid to be able to shapeshift into a dragon or something like that? its always forest creatures, and while i think they are beautiful, i would really like something badass, like a wyvern or something for shapeshifting
