DWARF
Kingdoms rich in ancient grandeur, halls carved into the roots of mountains, the echoing of picks and hammers in deep mines and blazing forges, a commitment to clan and tradition, and a burning hatred of goblins and orcs—these common threads unite all dwarves.

ELF
Elves are a magical people of otherworldly grace, living in the world but not entirely part of it. They live in places of ethereal beauty, in the midst of ancient forests or in silvery spires glittering with faerie light, where soft music drifts through the air and gentle fragrances waft on the breeze. Elves love nature and magic, art and artistry, music and poetry, and the good things of the world

HALFLING
The comfort of home are the goals of most halflings’ lives: a place to settle in peace and quiet, far from marauding monsters and clashing armies; a blazing fire and a generous meal; fine drink and fine conversation. Though some halflings live out their days in remote agricultural communities, others form nomadic bands that travel constantly, lured by the open road and the wide horizon to discover the wonders of new lands and peoples. But even these wanderers love peace, food, hearth, and home, though home might be a wagon jostling along a dirt road or a raft floating downriver.

HUMAN
In the reckonings of most worlds, humans are the youngest of the common races, late to arrive on the world scene and short-lived in comparison to dwarves, elves, and dragons. Perhaps it is because of their shorter lives that they strive to achieve as much as they can in the years they are given. Or maybe they feel they have something to prove to the elder races, and that’s why they build their mighty empires on the foundation of conquest and trade. Whatever drives them, humans are the innovators, the achievers, and the pioneers of the worlds.

GITHYANKI
Githyanki are superlative warriors, trained with silver blades and flying into battle on red dragons. They seek to destroy all mind flayers, whose ancient empire enslaved them.

HALF-ELF
Walking in two worlds but truly belonging to neither, half-elves combine what som e say are the best qualities of their elf and human parents: human curiosity, inventiveness, and ambition tempered by the refined senses, love of nature, and artistic tastes of the elves. Som e half-elves live among humans, set apart by their emotional and physical differences, watching friends and loved ones age while time barely touches them. Others live with the elves, growing restless as they reach adulthood in the timeless elven realms, while their peers continue to live as children. Many half-elves, unable to fit into either society, choose lives of solitary wandering or join with other misfits and outcasts in the adventuring life.

TIEFLING
To be greeted with stares and whispers, to suffer violence and insult on the street, to see mistrust and fear in every eye: this is the lot of the tiefling. And to twist the knife, tieflings know that this is because a pact struck generations ago infused the essence of Asmodeus—overlord of the Nine Hells—into their bloodline. Their appearance and their nature are not their fault but the result of an ancient sin, for which they and their children and their children’s children will always be held accountable.

DROW
The elves of the Underdark, Drow are ruled by matriarchs who worship the goddess LoIth. Magic and dexterity help drow survive in a society of brutal ownership, and those who flee to the surface must mask themselves or be treated as monsters.

  1. I want a playble half-dragon (not dragonborn) so I could create a red half-dragon bard and bang a T H I C C red dragon… Plz Larian… Also there should be a quest for getting a Potion of Giant Size to compensate on size differances for this particular romance.

  2. Why did they release a portion of a game for 60 bucks? They running out of cash for development? I mean this early access shit is out of control. Just make ur fuckn game and spend some time on it then sell it. Remember back when games were sold as a finished product?

  3. The base racial speed isn't in addition to what you can move. That is your movement allowance in combat. The higher the base racial speed, the further you can move when in combat. This is why the intellect devourers in the beginning of the game can close in so fast. Their base racial speed is much higher than that any of the other races.

  4. Need help with my class, I’m new to Baldur’s Gate and “real RPGs” at large. I went with a high elf fiend warlock with high charisma. I usually have highest initiative and can just spam eldritch blast. What should I start building towards as the game progresses? Should I get heavier armor?

  5. I wonder if they'll add Artificers to the classes (since they've become official and stuff) (doesn't really have to be sci-fi, what if I just want an Artificer that casts firebolt by painting a small ball of flames in the air)

  6. I have to say, and that's not minor AT ALL: Githyanki's Mage Hand is not like the cantrip, IT'S INVISIBLE. You may thing that's not important, but It very much is. You can shove someone at the start of the combat and the hand is going to still invisible until It attacks, it's a bonus shove action at range in combat until you break tour concentration, you can manipulate the scene (including the free shove action) without entering combat, and a lot of things that I am missing for sure. I'm currently playing a Githyanki Mage with medium armor and it's a lot of fun!

  7. Does anyone know where I can find out what the different racial spells are for 3rd level? I know that Githyanki and Zariel Tieflings get Jump and that Seldarine Drow get Faerie Fire. Before anyone says look in the official books Zariel Tieflings don't get jump at 3rd level they get Searing Smite (cast at 2nd level) so there have been changes so the official books are effectively pointless from my perspective… If I don't get a response I will probably will level each of them up to see what they get… but if someone else has done that or if there is a place you can look that would be much easier. Thanks in Advance 🙂

  8. For any newbs that wonder how is it possible for elfs not to take bonus on charisma cause on Lotr they are charismatic (look at galadrien on elrod) , high elfs is a sub race that has indeed +2 on charisma. You can play as one in 3.5 edition
