Not sure if you found it yet or not, but I'm pretty sure at the corner where you made the gate on your wall (with the bones) is a buried chest. I haven't found one yet, but I think that rock formation is one of the burial mounds.

Skip, if you craft a Cultivator (5 bronze/5 core wood) you will be able to plant trees at your location. Provided that you have the seeds. Same goes for carrot's.
