Well I ll be playing childe as a main dps with rotation build with fischl,Bennett and beidou….but thanks for the build it gave a rough idea about how can he be used at his peak … thanks ❤️
Imo Childe is arguably one of the most difficult characters to build.
Don't see why he becomes a main dps only at c6. At c1 reducing the time of his E makes him be out of his stance just for 6 seconds where u can pop supports skills or a burst support Q to do something on those 6 seconds

Prototype crescent is usually better than windblume ode for a "carry" (on field hydro applicator not a burst support) childe build because of the short duration for windblume ode. EM is kinda meh because it only benefits your ult and crescent has a much more useful attack% substat. The crescent passive also gives you more attack% at r1 compared to r5 windblume. Crescent does have the need to hit a charged shot but that doesn't take too long and his charged attacks apply riptide so it's still good.
You should also level normal attacks as it affects riptide flash (the consecutive hydro dmg when u fully charged aim shot the enemy) and riptide burst (the aoe hydro dmg that spreads riptide to nearby enemies when u kill an enemy). Your elem skill (E) affects riptide slash (aoe hydro dmg when attacking enemies under riptide) and riptide blast (aoe hydro dmg when u use meelee stance ult to remove the riptide status)
Childe can absolutely be a main DPS, even at c0, you just have to learn how to manage his cool down, and which supports to use for maximum DPS. Also stringless is only good for bursts, because after switching stances, his melee is considered a normal attack, not a skill. So basically best build for childe is 4 heart of depth or 4 bolide, with skyward harp as his best in slot, rust as his second best weapon, and BP and blackcliff as very sold alternatives to rust. Also in terms of team building, I think Beidou, Fischl, Xingqui, Albedo, Xiangling, and Kaeya are his best supports

OH YEAH MY HUSBANDO SHALL SHINE! I have been debating whether to get his const, but I’m not sure it will be worth my money which makes me sad. I would whale if I didn’t care XD but I shall keep him at C0. I’ll just focus on getting him the harp and continue the painful artifact grind for this expensive boi. When I finish farming for his main dps build, I’ll try your burst support/reaction build! Been running him as dps since his debut so this will be interesting >v<
One wrong information is that amos WILL still best rust r5 and it has been proven on keqing mains math due to how his attack pattern change, so amos will beat every 4 star despite refiment level , viri refinement doesnt matter

Should I use Rust (R1) or Stringless (R3)? Is elemental mastery good for freeze-comps without shatter?
Tartaglia needs alot of practice as DPS. You have to make it a muscle memory to remember when to switch out from the melee stance.
For f2p use blackcliff warbow for dps.u don't need the passive of the weapon cuz he can dish out alot of damage with no effort.i have him at 67crit and 120 crit damage I can put more than 100k with benny easily.
Go burst support with 2 piece hydro and nobless
I can't stop re-watching the intro. Childe gameplay and Vetrom's music are a blessing together.
I gotta say c6 childe is just a QoL and the most overrated almost useless constellation. It just helps allow more room for error and melee openings. You still need to rotate to charge your off-field dps bursts (Beidou/xiangling/fischl) or else you will do garbage damage. C6 doesnt give any damage spike or allow solo dps carry potential. Also, he is not a support hydro applicator as xingqiu already do it better. Enabler carry and support is different, an enabler carry is an on-field character while a support enabler can do it off-field. He is a carry that amplify off-field dps. He may not be able to compete with other hypercarries, but he makes his own team do more damage.

I want to build a second team around Childe. My first team has kequing, beidou, venti, and bennet. I was thinking I could run childe with xiangling, sucrose, and diona but I know bennet would be better with him for the pyro resonance. Is it worth swapping bennet over and using diona on my other team? My other options are razor, fishcl, xinyan, chongyun.
I want childe but having to fight oceanid for his asc. Materials is a turn off for me…
