Although you won’t have access to the best guns and ammunition, your options have expanded to the point that you have some capable builds that can help you rip through your first few missions on your road to level 10.

I didn't realize they made all of that viable to the lower leveled players as well. I just knew they had modified the adar barter and then just raised the price of it.

You can probably leg meta pretty well with the PP-19 Vityaz with the early trades, too. Or just, like, a shotgun. First level workbench gives you magnum buck for one blue powder and one pack of non-survival matches, and you can nab some shotties off of Jaeger.
Also you can put a stock and a pistol grip on an ADAR if you want. Pricey, but I believe you get a bit more ergo for your effort.

ak74 with BT will get you through most fights. Im lvl 34 and haven't used any semi auto guns. So easy to have an m4 or ak this wipe. I have thousands of BT rounds just from looting. Just stack the first 15 in mags with BS.

The main issue with the 209/136 early game was actually the availability of 30 round mags., not the guns themselves. Not sure I agree with the addition of the 20 round SKS mags to LL1, at least the SKS-OP is quest locked. Once you have both unlocked, which is essentially after 1 raid, who would use the regular SKS? It's now a meme gun, like the makarov or toz. As far as the ADAR goes, I wouldn't recommend using it until you have access to at least M85xA1, which is lvl10 realistically. Should've probably mention that presets/modding menu is not available without workbench lvl 1, but you can modify using the inspect popup.
A few things I feel like mentioning for the hell of it:
– .366 EKO has just a little bit less penetration than 7.62×39 PS (30 vs. 32, still pens class 3 but does a bit worse against 4) but a decent chunk more damage (73 vs. 57), making it a pretty good option for feeding a 209 while you don't have access to BP, even though it has worsened accuracy
– Skier now trades Yotota car key (Yotota), Car key (Key, the vehicle keyfob) and Sixpack keys for MP-153s (which also have 6-round tubes available immediately, along with 8.5mm buck being craftable from L1 workbench), which I wish I knew was coming the day before that was added because I sold 2/3 of the keys needed to Therapist thinking they were useless and then 24 hours later noticed the trade
– Skier also sells stripped ADAR lowers for around 7.2-7.4K, so it may theoretically be an option if one has a lot of vital AR parts laying around from things like gun component spawns

I love the irons on the SKS. It's very accurate, and it's actually decent for CQB, especially at night if you've found those NVGs.
Adar is a great gun to use, I buy it and put the mk12 on it with the Burris then upgrade it with found in raid parts until I found an m4 on woods and transferred the parts to the m4 and now I have a fairly kitted load out cause of the user camps. Got a bastion helmet with a trooper armour and headset with a medium m4 build mostly made of found in raid parts. So I spent about 45-50000 on the Adar and used some armour and a rig I had in my stash to get a very decent kit that can kill very well. It’s a fun way to play and cause you haven’t spent money to buy the kit you don’t feel as bad when you die.
Note the MP5K is loaded with AP6.3's which kick harder than the PSTGZH that you get at level 1. I commonly grind out my level 1-10 just buying up MP5Ks and ramming out Factory runs murdering anything until I have no ammo left and then leave.
Honestly its good that they did this in my opinion. Weapon customization is such a huge part of the game and can be confusing to new players, and it was kinda weird how you really couldn't do it till you got level 2 traders. Having these items and guns unlocked at lvl 1 traders allows for players to get a slight but more substantial feel for customization they unlock more stuff.
Also agree with the M855. People bash it so hard, but for face tapping its pretty good with the ADAR's easy to spam low recoil. Most people either don't have a face shield or are using a class 3 face shields to protect from scavs. So as to why people freak out about using M855, I don't get it as its served me perfectly well most of the time once I learned to aim for the face.

1-10 tbh was Adar/m4 with m855. 10-18 was rfb with m80. 18-40 was back to Adar and m4 lol. Vector was nuts but nerfed in price and how early you get it. Other than that shotguns with 8.5 buck can be a easy hidden OP

I never buy rifles. I just do Scav runs and take these weapons and the weapons I find on dead people.
I killed killa with the vepr 209 before using the 366 ap. I gotta lucky one tap right in the eye slot.

One of the things I hate in Tarkov is that 1-10 grind because your options are so limited, which in the scheme of things, doesn’t make sense for a PMC to go into a combat zone with little to no weaponry/armor, but that’s besides the point.
Having options for different play styles is awesome.
Wow I was sherpa-ing a friend who just bought the game last weekend and I was telling him "Yup basic bitch sks from Prapor is all you're gonna get till lvl 10 buddy." This is actually a very welcome change and will be kinda embarrassing when we play next cuz I'm gonna have to tell him I was wrong and he can have a scoped rifle lol.
