The Sega Megadrive/Genesis game Thunderforce 4 has the song "Metal Squad" and this s the best video game music ever. Period.
The first diablo ost is amazing
Gerudo Valley is my vibe
Wait! "Listen"
Right, you are!
Personally i think its pokemon mainly gen 4 and 5.
Zelda, Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger, Assassin's Creed, God of War… so many great soundtracks out there for video games, and I'm sure I've missed a few.
Comix Zone on Sega is my favourite soundtrack of all time.
If you don't know what kind of music you like, nintendo games can show you early on what type of person you are. If only I knew what metal is back then…
In my opinion most of the nintendo games have good music in them. Some of the best are Megaman, Jackal, Contra, Super Contra, Contra Force, Shadow of the Ninja, Ninja Gaiden, Ferrari Grand Prix Challenge(stage 1 music of this game sounds really good to me), Top Gun and Top Gun The Second Mission. I think Top Gun The Second Mission has the best music. It's literally metal. But if I were to give you the most advanced example, it would be a game called Fester's Quest.
There certainly are other NES good music games out there, I just don't know them yet.
Pokéon Black and White for sure.
And Song of Storms. Pokemon has a lot of bangers too, especially the first few generations are just full of crazy metal tunes played on the Gameboy's puny sound chip.
You gotta hear the ost from “Atlantis the lost tales” by French composer Pierre Esteve. The sounds he makes are all natural, no keyboards etc. and the compositions are out of this world. A hidden gem
