Bethesda Xbox Exclusivity – What It Might Mean

Xbox officially owns Bethesda. The deal is finalized. What’s next? Xbox head Phil Spencer hints at exclusivity, but how far is that going to go with properties like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, and beyond? Let’s hash it out.

  1. I think Microsoft's first move will be to remake oblivion and make it an exclusive. That was my first elder scrolls game and by far one of my favorite RPGs of all time. Many people now days dont have access to the game other than PC and remaking it or releasing it again will bring back veterans and a whole new era of fans. It'll be kinda like what Sony did with demon souls remake

  2. I think TES 6 and the new Fallout will be Xbox/PC exclusives I mean sony have some badass exclusives, they'll make it exclusively for PC and Xbox for like a year or 2

  3. I hope that the big boys (ES and Fallout) stay multi-plat, as I'd rather delay upgrading to an actual PC rather than gaming laptop since that's where long term enjoyment of those titles comes from. That way I can play them on my PS5 until the modding scene gets interesting.

  4. So instead of making new great games exclusive to their system, they bought out a 3rd party company and added nothing new except made it only playable on their platform.

  5. It wouldn't surprise me at all were new AAA properties (like Starfield) to be exclusive, and existing cross platform ones (like Elder Scrolls and Fallout) to remain so. There a probably a bunch of "lower tier" games, i.e. the ones that wouldn't profitably drive console sales, that will still be cross platform.

  6. "LEGACY" Titles, in my mind, means ESO and Fallout 76. I can't see that meaning anything else. To me it's that they will continue to support those games that have a player base with content updates etc.

Everything else going forward will be 100% exclusive to Xbox and PC. Gamepass is the long play here.
