  1. Keep in mind that the 200 million is just to bring the games to the Epic Games store and SONY would still make money off of each sale and there was nothing said that they could not launch those games on other platforms (Steam). Unless more details come out to clarify the parameters that 200 million is not that bad of a deal.

  2. Metro is gonna be even more awesome now. Underrated game but is totally worth investing time to play. You can tell love was put into making it and you can tell they tried their best every step of the way with the budget they were given

  3. Before they upgrade Metro they might want to sort out the gameplay. It's almost unplayable with it's deadzone and awful sensitivity. 3 seconds to turn a full 360° is not what you want during combat. I don't understand how a game with such terrible gameplay can be released and still not patched. Yet, the devs have got the time to make it look prettier.

  5. I’m well looking forward to Metro Exodus PS5. I bought it on PS4 and deleted it fairly early in. Couldn’t cope with the horrendous load times. This should no longer be the case 🤞

  6. No wonder they delayed the PS5 version of that game if they know it's broken after the world saw how Cyberpunk 2077 was kicked out of the PS Store and it's still not back!

  7. MBG do you really think Sony need FF exclusivity to boost PS5 console sales. Smell the roses man. Visit any online store and it says PS5 console out of stock. Normal gamers can't buy one at retail. Only geeks who chase the stock status websites and try to grab one actually succeed. The exclusivity period is to make the game more desirable for PS5 gamers. The reason why the exclusivity is not fixed is because they built the game for PS5 and are now making it work on a PS4. They are not sure how long that will take if they hit technical issues with the port. You read everything wrong. The info is right in front of your eyes and you go off at a tangent thinking you've discovered a unique insight.

  8. My theory is that Square is planning to start advertising Part 2 less than nine months before its release to surpise everyone.

After the failure of all the FFXIII games (XIII wasn't actually a financial failure, but failed critically and was also scared away lots of fans from the series), the countless delays of FFXV and the huge debacle which was FFXIVs first release which also led to the delay of the PS3 version of FFXIV, these past 15 years have been plagued with bad news about the FF-series. But in the last few years something has changed dramatically.

While FFXV could just not have been rescued anymore, Square at least took it seriously to finally release it, while also remaking FFXIV into the critically acclaimed A Realm Reborn and they got off their high horse to always use just their own game engines to using Unreal Engine instead, which streamlined the development of Kingdom Hearts 3, Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy VII Remake immensely. They also put another try into Yoko Taro and put the right team (Platinum Games) into making the sequel Nier Automata. And since all these events within Square Enix, (almost) everything has gotten much much better: Nier Automata was a great success, even justifying going back to the original and upgrading its gameplay to what is now Nier Replicant Version 1.22…, which seems to be a success as well, Dragon Quest XI was a success and is (imo) the best entry in this 35-year old series, Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally there and way better than anyone could have expected, FFXIV: A Realm Reborn is one of the most successful MMORPGs of all time and after the original release was a critical disaster (Meta-critic score: 49) is now for fans and critics the best MMORPG on the market (Shadowbringers critical score: 91)

The Square Enix we now have is nothing like it was 10 to 15 years ago. The quality of their games has increased largely and they now make releases in a timely manner. FF-fans of old still think that the Final Fantasy franchise has gone down and is beyond saving and that Square is still delaying their games like crazy, but in actuality is't gotten really different by now. within less than 12 months, they released Shadowbringers (FFXIVs latest expansion) and FFVII Remake, which are imo the two best entries in the whole franchise. And if you look at the marketing of FFVII Remake, Square stopped releaseing any information about the game after the initial reveal when they noticed that the game just wasn't ready. They only re-revealed it about eight or so months before the release on State of Play and at E3.

My theory is that when Part 1 was released they were expecting Part 2 to be out by now. Thus the 12 months exclusivity, because (and this is my theory) the exclusivity deal would be to have Part 1 exclusive to PlayStation until Part 2 releases. Now Part 2 needs a while longer, at least another 6 months from now and the exclusivity is extended as well. I don't expect Part 2 to be out this Christmas, but I'm guessing we will have a reveal of part 2 with lots of more gameplay reveals in the coming months after that around E3 and a release early next year, similar to the timing of Part 1 and its advertising two years ago.

  9. Sony will be out of their fucking mind to sell their exclusives to Epic Games Store not even for a 1 Billion USD. They will practically kill the only thing that gives them an edge over High End Gaming PC's & XBOX.
