I don't wanna derail the hype-train but I have essentially zero hope going forward. If Bethesdas track record is anything to go by, this game will probably look like a PS3 game and play like a PS2 game.

Everybody excited about customising our ships, and then theirs me hoping that character creation lets you customise your body aswell as your head.
To be fair, I did say also that it doesn't technically guarantee it comes out this year. We also mentioned that Halo had marketing deals in place for 2020 and still got delayed.

By looking into the past it’s more that it will be a “beta release” in 2021 and bug fixes to make the game ok till 2023.
i got sad when i heard 2021. then i realised 2021 was this year.
I could see this game being an RPG FPS like Mass Effect but then have constructing elements like Space Engineers. Could be an interesting mix!

Games before were undoubtedly good, and had release dates. Now we’re not sure if they’ll be good or when they come out.
If they could pull off space ship building like in empyrion galactic survival, omf. But with the signature exploration and character progression that only bgs can provide us… That would be hype as skullzi would say
I LOVE the idea of spaceship building. It could be similar to the settlement building system in Fallout 4 but honestly, I think the more realistic and user-friendly option would be an evolution of the weapon customisation system. I imagine being able to visit an upgrade terminal or ship upgrade vendor and bringing up an interface similar to what you would see on a weapons workbench. From there you can see a list of all the categories (hull, systems, weapons, decorations, paint, decals etc) and each one would bring up sub categories of things you could change and see it being applied in real time as you could with your weapons in FO4.
This next part is a bit of a stretch, but maybe after that, maybe you can enter into your ship's interior and open a kind of base building mode to decorate it with furniture, items and decorations similar to FO4's settlement menu.

I wonder what the limitations, if any, will be on spaceship building. It would be neat to build a ship that looks like the Millennium Falcon or the Ebon Hawk, but I worry that Lucasfilm might have an issue if someone built the Falcon in a different game.

I like that it says "spaceships" plural. Meaning we get to make more than 1?? Because when Bethesda says starfield is the "biggest most epic scifi game you can imagine" it def sounds like spaceships is something big in the game. Im fucking hyped now.

I'm a big fan of a game called – Empyrion Galactic Survival. Where you land on a planet, gather resources, build a home, defend a home, do a lot of mining and resource gathering, build a small space craft to go to orbit or moons, build a giant spacecraft for interstellar space, explore worlds, invade enemy towers and space stations and do so much more.
With Starfield, i will be happy if we can even travel to the planets of the solar system and i hope this game is set in our solar system with our planets and not too distant in the future. Flying a spaceship should be a risky endeavor. Humanity is not that advanced yet. Maybe it would be like air travel of the 1940's when flying was still dangerous.
Is hard to imagine multiple planets that can be explored. The amount of work that would take would be huge. But Bethesda started work on this game 7 years back. So one can hope. Cant wait though!
