  1. But wait, there is more. One of cdpr's "self-proclaimed" investors is preparing a lawsuit against them :v Cdpr gave false information about consoles, what lead to high fall of stock prices, what lead to loses of shareholders. What, if proven to be intentional but backfired, is breaking the law. The supposedly broken paragraph says about "intentional false information in goal of financial gain".
Even if mr. Orzechowski isn't in fact an investor, the paragraph is real so the lawsuit may begin anyway. What may drop cdpr's stock's value even lower.
Tl;dr, Cdpr so far has only reputation problems, but soon they may also have financial and legal problems.

  2. This vid made me think about licenses (mostly movie franchises) that are surprising in not having a mmo out there currently:
    – Harry Potter
    – Star Wars (current era, not counting SWTOR)
    – Marvel (RIP Marvel Heroes) – and pls don't anyone say Avengers, bletch!
    – D&D (not counting DDO or Neverwinter, as I have strong reservations about calling either a 'mmorpg')
    – Stargate
    – Farscape
    – BSG
    – Baylon 5
    – Firefly sniff
    – James Bond
    – Westworld
    – Game of Thrones
    – Fast & the Furious (sue me! 😉
    – Dr Who
    – X-Files
    – Warhammer 40000 (my personal wish list item – after playing Inquisitor – Martyr arpg last few months & reading some of the novels, I think this could really be an awesome mmo setting)

    Also, from books:
    – Wheel of Time
    – Shannara
    – Dragonriders of Pern
    – Culture series (Banks)
    – Dune
    – Asimov Robots / Foundation
    – Expanse
    – Sanderson – Mistborn or Stormlight

  3. Given the history of CDPR, it seems to me that they were in an impossible situation. The game was hyped beyond all reason, and every delay made fans angrier. So much so, that the studio received death threats. Over a game… Other companies danced around the Cyberpunk release date fearing its release and how it would impact them. So, after everyone was done pressuring them to release it, fans and executives, they finally did it. And now people are upset that it's not polished. I'm playing it on a GTX 970 and the performance is… not great but not horrible. There is a lot of bugs to be certain. But when I take a look at the story and mechanics, there is a lot to love about the game and given that the Witcher 3 was also buggy at the start I have faith that the game will shine in months to come. All this being said, they did omit a lot of info before release which was shady as hell but at least they are trying to own up to it instead of being passive aggressive as EA was during the whole Battlefront fiasco. So, I think we should be disappointed but not so mad or dismissive of their attempts to fix the game. I'm not a huge fan of the Witcher series(let the stoning begin) but out of all the companies CDPR still has my respect for their business practices. No lootboxes, no single player stores(looking at you Ubisoft), just a game, and DLC's which are, in my experience, well done and fairly priced. They deserve to be cut some slack. And Rykker, you should do audiobooks man, I love your voice. And where are those lore videos?

  4. This is going to continue to occur as long as people continue to pre-order and pay for "early access". You are not only beta-testing for them, you're now playing alpha level games. And judging from the comments below, not many people are that upset. Expect to be taken advantage of again, sadly.

  5. Bad leadership from yet another game developer. They don’t care about their reputation they care about $ and sales like most other developers. You’d be a fool to believe they care about customers, they obviously don’t even play the game. Besides it’s glitches and bugs on PS4 they game is just missing something. It’s dry and average. It had so much potential that flat short. Well I got a refund. Disappointed but not surprised.

  6. CD Projekt Red are gonna have to fix 99% of the bugs in the game, add all the missing content that was promised, all while still pushing out the promised FREE dlc in time. To get my trust back.

Or I will never buy another game from them.

  8. There have been too many examples now of CEO's of games companies releasing a buggy mess to the gamers, this cannot continue. Once Companies used to be reputable in releasing a demo of there games before release so you could evaluate and see if it was something you wanted to buy, they still release evaluation copies to the press, why cannot we go back to that.

Because there is so much money in the games industry these companies have stakeholders and there is pressure to make money, but the reputation of the company is everything and it's counter intuitive for them to release a buggy mess they do not learn from their own mistakes.

  9. What's so unfortunate is the game runs generally great on PC. Reports of massive bugs are beginning to seem the stuff of hyperbole and anti-hype as individual reports on PC come pouring in. 60 hours in myself and I've had a relatively flawless experience, and the game has so many strong points. On PC – the 90%'s are justified, on console… yeah that's just rough and CDPR needs to answer for it.

  10. I'm tired of developer releasing games before they are ready. Last time I got burned with Wolcen, I promised myself I will never ever preorder a game again. And If I want to buy a new game I will wait at least a few weeks and follow streamers to see the gameplay and problems.

  11. tbh they tanked their reputation with me when they went back on their no-crunch pledge, and then their glib attitude towards it going towards launch. With more details coming out about the conditions the developers had to work in, I feel like their management is grossly incompetent in addition to being incredibly hard on workers. Until that's resolved, I don't feel inclined to respect them as a studio, regardless of what they do with the game. As far as the issues with launch, I agree with the popular sentiment that they were essentially deceiving console players and released a product that could generously be described as half-baked for everyone running last-gen (which is far and away most console gamers). That's a very underhanded thing to do, and I feel badly for console gamers who have been left in a lurch, although the graphical issues are not something that affects me. I've encountered a huge number of bugs that have required reloading, restarting, or in one case verifying game files, which is, to put it mildly, frustrating. I could go on for quite some time about all the things that bother me about CDPR, the launch and their conduct/communication leading up to it, and the game itself, but I don't want to go off on tangents.

Realistically, I think CDPR will fix most of the bugs (graphical or otherwise) that are plaguing their game, and that over time gamers as a whole will return to the fold as long as CDPR mollifies them and doesn't say/do anything mean to them over the next few months. I feel like if they fix their game, people will give it another shot, and if it's fun, CDPR's discretions will be forgiven/forgotten by the majority of the gaming community. Even now there are HORDES of people rushing to their defense on social media. I REALLY doubt they're gonna hurt for it in the long run as long as they don't make more "mistakes". I think what'll be more interesting is what the shakeout from Sony's decision will be, and how this launch might affect both their certification process for games, and their refund policy/how they make studios culpable for mass refunds.

What really bums me out was looking at their timeline for fixing the game. They're planning two hotfixes/patches within two weeks of launch. That CAN'T be easy on the developers. It's really depressing to think about them having to continue their crunch schedule into the holidays as their management tries to salvage this situation that's their fault to begin with. More than anything, that's the saddest part of this story to me.

  12. Got over 120 hours in this game, playing the Stadia version. Bug yes, gamebreaking no. I'm having a good time with this game, easily the game that got me most hooked this year. The only major critisism I have is the imbalance of soms skill/weapon combinations. It makes the game dull. My blind play through was a lot more fun because of this than my 2nd run where I thought it would be better to go for a 'focussed build'. It's up to you to min/max ofcourse, the best experience is to play it blind and don't look at guides, just go explore and enjoy the game.

  13. The biggest mistake was making the game for console, or at least old consoles, at all. They should have made it only for PCs, clearly stating what config you need and THEN make a port for next gen consoles. CDPR is a PC gaming company. Funded by PC gamers for PC gamers and all the problems are caused by console peasants! Their mistake was trying to be nice to everyone and trying to make the game for everyone, even those who cant afford next gen console or powerful gaming PC. CDPR are victims, not villains.

  14. Like No Man's Sky they will probably never be able to shake the "CP77 isn't that that scam of a game" remembrance attached to it for many concole players.
Not being honest is the worst kind of thing you can do in such a situation.
Had they gone out with the game by stating that the game dosn't run well on old gen consoles yet but they are going to fix it i would guess that many people with old gen consoles would still have gotten the game since many of them want to upgrade to the new gen anyways and many probably also want to get an early look at Night City even if it is a bit laggy and not the full xp.
They certainly would've lost some early sales but not enough to not cast a shadow over shadowlands, and they could have kept face. Sure some people would still complain "8 years and the game is like this on old consoles" but that outcry would've been insignificant compared to the current outrage going on.

    OT:
That's why i usually despise the upper management of any larger company. They practically live from year to year, with their huge severance pay clause in their contract, thinking about how to make the company look good for one more year or until their set bonus goal, to reap some more, and then explode in a giant supernova of shitshow and then moving onwards to the next company to ruin as if nothing happened.
I really think it is time for the EU to make it mandatory to bind managers above a certain pay-grade to their posts by binding the damages caused by blatant mismanagement to their personal income at a level that hurts enough so that they don't go the road to ruins as it wouldn't benefit themselves but rather would take safer routes for everybody involved..

  15. Speechless at how messed up the games industry is. Limited technical alpha.. it's been so long since they asked if we have phones. They really had so little on that the major announcement was 10 minutes of development on a mobile game. CDPR gets no reprieve, they knew it was bad and did it anyway. The only reason is yielding to pressure to release, guess where from, being 65% publicly owned. They knew it was bad, they still released. Another one bites the dust. Stop preordering from these crooks !!!!!!!

  16. I dont have any issue with pc or playstation or xbox, it's just I've never understood why pc players always have something against console gamers lol and I've always thought it pretty ironic that they claim to be the "master race" but are on a computer playing with a mouse and keyboard.. a keyboard.. that was designed to type not to game. But yet you have consoles that are literally made strictly for gaming. I just dont get it lol apparently I'm not seeing it. 🤷‍♂️

  17. Honestly whatever that Exec might have said there are for me only two possibilities: Either what they said was true and they underestimated the issue, or its a lie. If true the Execs are all grossly incompetent and have no idea what they are doing … I man come on how can you lead a company like CDPR that regularily makes fun of other AAA companies for their bad practices and then not know you are doing it yourself. I dont buy it. They did it knowing what could happen and prioritised christmas buisness and now they try to salvage what is possible….The bad working environment at CDPR has been known for a while it is not a recent thing.
