Please help support this channel at https://www.patreon.com/playeronestart and subscribe.

In this video I take a trip to BN Video Game Con in Bloomington, IL. This is only the second video game convention I have attended, the first was in October 2019. In this video I pick up some unique items that I can’t find in my local retro game stores as well as chat with some other passionate video game enthusiasts. Wanna come along for the ride?

  1. It's rare when I watch such a long video from start to finish, but I really enjoyed this! Jealous of all the Dreamcast games some of the vendors had. I was also very interested in that portable Turbo-Grafx 16.

  2. Good for you, man… you're a smart shopper. These retro-conventions always remind me of a strip-mall carnival; a small soda is like $5.00… a chili-dog, $8.00, plushie, $25.00. I think you made some smart purchases.

Those 8-bit titles… play them in emulation before purchasing; I'd say at least 50% of all 8-bit games were more or less shovel-ware. Thanks for the show!

  3. I didn't know that the SNES mini was worth anything. I have one with the box. The Box does have a razor slash in it, otherwise in great condition.
I enjoy the 3D pad. I received one for Christmas a few years ago.
My area doesn't have many retro stores. I find most stuff at yard sales, or online. If I were rich, I'd open a retro PC/console store. Consignment alone may pay the rent. I don't like the idea of paying squat for people's stuff. Letting then consign is more fair. My 30% fee would give me what I'd pay, and give the seller a fair selling price.
I have a super 8, and I have a handful of Famicom, and Super Famicom games.
Turbo Express is something I doubt I'd own. That's OK, as I can emulate on PSP/Vita.
I'm loving VR. I have been working out with VR. Between Fix XR, and Beat Saber, I'm getting buff!
    Picachu clock! I love it.
When it comes to games, I tend to buy in lots. I take what I like, and flip the rest. Sometimes I absorb all my cost.
    LOL You're famous! About time.
The Vita games still look great. SONY could have kept the Vita alive a couple more years.
Jag Games! I still only have Tempest 2000.
Im a hands on collector too. Where is the fun in collecting things one can't play?
A trip to Japan to collect games may be cheapest way to collect.
I have a Super Gameboy. Great item.
Playing a foreign video game is like traveling.
That's Awesome-0! Cartman was playing a joke on Butters that backfired.
Hudsonsoft much have done well in Japan. They are multiplatform.
    Great video, as always.

  4. The Video Game Summit is coming up in July at the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park. I went 2 years ago. It's not huge but was still fun. I got to meet the creator of Q*Bert and the creator of Rampage (two separate guys). I had them autograph my NES carts. You should check it out.
